close objects have a smaller aperture. Don't shoot skylines with 5.6. Close that shit down. The closer the bigger you want your hole, the farther the smaller you want your hole. So far - high number. Close - small number

These pictures aren't terribly exciting in terms of content or framing, but I like the underexposed-on-grey look. There's so much glossy high-key stuff these days everywhere that I appreciate the change of pace, even it might not really be "correct" to do.
Just work on the framing and subjects, find something exciting or interesting. Use the underexposure to create some drama, maybe, and do try to get more pictures of people with this look even if it's scary. Different people, too, not just the girl with the coffee.
