Who cares that it's ugly as shit, why would you want it ANYWAY?

To keep the K-mount, it has the same flange distance as a DSLR, so it's got all the empty space for a pentaprism, but yet no optical viewfinder. So bulky for no reason, except that Pentax knows it can't invent a new lens mount and compete against NEX and m4/3, so it creates this abomination that serves no purpose.

It doesn't even have an EVF. It's a big bulky camera with a viewscreen on the back. Why would anyone get that over a DSLR?

Looks pretty alright to me. I assume it's APS-C, taking K mount glass? I dig it.

Who was implying anyone would get it over a DSLR? There's not a mirrorless on the market worth getting over a dslr, but they have their own merits.

Also, it's not quite as ugly with the silver trim and a non-pancake lens on the front.

You completely missed the point. Read it again. The merits of OTHER mirrorless systems are being really compact, and being able to adapt any lens easily due to the short flange distance. That's why you would pick them over a DSLR with an OVF.

This camera IS a DSLR, for all intents and purposes, except it is missing the OVF which there is still room for, because of the flange distance. It's got all the bulk of a DSLR, and none of the advantages of the other mirrorless systems.

So the point is this camera serves no purpose at all. Not that a DSLR is better.

So looking at the image, the idea is to retain the fat K mount, but make lenses deeply recessed? That's stupid as hell. Look at the size of the focus ring on that shit, it's smaller than on the much maligned Nikon 45mm. Why not just make a shallow mount plus an adapter to K, just like Sony and Panalympus did?

Also damn, Pentax never made particularly beautiful cameras, but this is the most butt-ugly camera of the decade.

A 60mm equivalent lens as standard? C'mon Pentax, I know you had a nice optical design to re-use, but this is bullshit.

Also wtf is with these buttons? The Rozen Maiden fad has gone long ago.
