Photography is for women and gays.

I may pretend to enjoy it, but deep down I wish I was marine biologist.

It kind of is. It's a very gentle hobby.

I'm considering returning to drumming and becoming a jazz drummer who experiments with prescription painkillers while getting lost in the passion and technical wizardy onstage. hell yeah!!

Photography is not science, it's art, and art is for fags... though I like old manual cameras because manual focusing and turning knobs makes me feel like a scientist.

    >Photography is not science, it's art, and art is for fags

Photography is NOT art. This is just what hipsters like to think it is.

Art is creating something, and that "something" creates an emotional response to the viewer. A camera simply records what is in front of it. You don't create anything. It's either for a commercial objective or a snapshot of time, a document.

Tell me the last time a photograph (that you regard as art) affected you emotionally.

biologists are photographers all the time, it is hard to not find a biologist who doesn't have a camera during its field trips, you can see the most amazing things out there and you will need to be prepared to document that.

I created this photograph. It impacted emotionally because... well, I think the photo speaks for itself.

not the one you are answering to, but It is considered art, what about the "staged photography", like gregory crewdson style, he creates something to being photographied. Or the ones who make little landscape models to be photographied. What about vik muniz who paints with things and then photographs. You could say then photography is just a mere way to document those happenings or performances or works, but no, the final goal is the photagraphy itself.

ANd yes, I've seen photographies than almost made me cry, they were so powerful at an emotional level for me.

And this photo impacted my mormon friends. They thought it was a very sad reality, and they felt gald they live away from it.
