Haven't got access to my HDD (on my phone) i'll just dump my 500px and was wondering if anyone can critic some of my stuff, I am still very new to this and still see myself as a GWC.

ah sorry didn't realize you ment technically,
umm at that point I didn't have the 430exii and was using my old 260ex. Just pointed it at the roof, and post production was some light de-saturation, and play with clone tool to remove the blotchy background(my shitty wall paint).

Don't mean to hijack your thread, OP but what exactly is the definition of a GWC?

I called out my friend once due to the fact that his flickr is flooded with about 10% good looking chicks while 90% being literal land-whales. I told him that I'd prefer shooting nothing but good looking women and he said that I was a guy with a camera...

As for the pictures in the 500px link, it feels like it's lacking a bit in the subject department. Eyes keep wandering and nothing's really catching my attention. (Except for maybe the first one cause it looks like she's topless)

GWC can mean different things to different people.

* In the modelling industry, it means a perverted man who wants to meet models in the hope of scoring a nude photoshoot/sex/etc. This GWC usually hangs around places like ModelMayhem. He doesn't do photography for a living.

* The guy who lives on DPReview, [CameraBrand]forums.com, Flickr groups etc, discussing at length the performance of gear that he doesn't even own. i.e. a gearfag. He only shoots resolution test charts, flower macros for comparing bokeh, and pictures of cats and whatever stationery he can find on his computer desk.

* The "Uncle Bob". The guy who turns up to the wedding or similar function with a fancy camera. Takes more pictures than the actual hired photographer.

* The guy who has to beg his mother/sister/girlfriend/wife/children to model for his snapshits.

Ah.... I can't say I agree with that. Some of the Canon Rebels practically make Nikon entry level cameras their bitches, yet you list only the '7D' as a 'learning' camera.

Not only that, but the D5100 and D5000 are practically the same and not much of an upgrade over the D3100/D3000. Plus, the D90 isn't even the same generation as any of these cameras (and the D300s only qualifies because of the 's.' The D7K practically molests the D300/D300s except in framerate and erganomics).

Something tells me you're a bit of a gearfag....
