    >> Would you? Anonymous 01/29/12(Sun)11:45 No.1504484
So here's the question. You're an out of work photographer and an opportunity comes up to shoot for a child modelling agency. You will be doing it anonymously (so your friends and family need never know), and everything is above board (no nudity, everything legal). But here's the thing; you know the images will be published in books/online for the sole purpose of being purchased by pedos who get off on this shit. Do you accept the job? Is it even exploitation? You get paid, the models get paid, the parents are happy for them to do it, the models seem to enjoy being in front of the camera, nobody is hurt... so, where's the problem?

Hard Mode: soaking wet 2 piece bikini shoot.
    >> Anonymous 01/29/12(Sun)11:49 No.1504487
    >>1504484
meh, why not. I really don't care who gets off on it. People can get off to a photograph on anything. The actual job is no different from fashion photography. I'm not going to stop shooting wildlife just because I know there are people out there into bestiality.

This is how things work in Japan. Pictures of young girls are published in books/online for the sole purpose of being purchased by pedos. Talking about this social phenomenon doesn't make me one.

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at. Maybe you missed the point of my post. I presented a 'what if' scenario because I was interested in how the anon of /p/ would react to it. I didn't offer my own personal opinion or take on that scenario.

I think kids are really interesting subjects to shoot and enjoy shooting portraits or candids of children of family/friends whenever I get the chance. But personally I would only shoot for such an agency if the money was really good. I would prefer not to contribute to the sexualization of children becoming more socially acceptable - which I think agencies such as those in Japan are doing.

Now, exploring the themes of sexuality and childhood in art is a different matter altogether. Sally Mann, for instance.

    >"This magazine was sold everywhere - sometimes from under the counter. Only in the 80s the magazine was discontinued due to new laws set. From the 90s, the notion of child pornography expanded ever further. In the 70s and 80s, nudist magazines such as "Young and Free," "Sunshine Friends", etc. were still perfectly legal to buy. Even artists such as David Hamilton, Jock Sturges and Sally Mann published images of naked children and adolescents, which was at the time was considered an art

In many ways Japanese society is superior to America (of course vice versa as well). It's illegal to be fat (no seriously, you'll be fined or fired if you don't get under a certain BMI), the transit and rapid transit systems are some of the best in the world, and finally, if you work hard to get into a good university and do well, you're basically guaranteed a job. As opposed to the US where I see people with Masters' waiting tables and shit.

If you accept such job, even letting aside moral issues and laws, you are deliberately encouraging pedophile's behaviours and even if in the studio everyone is happy outside if some piece of shit get overexcited and rape a child is partly your fault.
Sexualizing children, expecially before puberty, it's a very dangerous thing to do because you are encouraging sexual attention to them. A lot of sick losers will begin to go around for them once the association is done.

The work of LS models is particularly dangerous IMO, because it presents childrens in a way that is very appealable even to "normal" adults. One that normally finds CP repulsive might instead feel attracted by LS's style because the pre-pubescent girls resemble grown up pin ups. It's a very dangerous "image bending" game that can trigger and encourage predatory behaviours toward childrens

well, no Herman. Read the link about the LS models crackdown, or the one of written by the pedo no wikileaks. It's not hypotetical, the scenario described was just what happened at LS agency with "professional" photographers and all.

    >morality crusade
I'm very far from being a moralfag. Even if I picked on Sally Mann, I don't consider her work as "pedophile" in its nature. But explicit and mere sexualization of children (the girl in the pic was 12 at the time) without any other "higher" aim than mere profit (so essentially pornography, even if in a soft form) it's something terrible.
From my point of view children that have hit puberty obviously have a sexuality and they shuold have the possibility to explore it with any traumatic experience and especially with no abuse.

The thing that is wrong with children, and with everyone should take these topics with pliers and very carefully, is mainly their legal status: let's face it, even if we tell us they are protected by the law (maybe the criminal ones) they are actually 2nd class citizens in most of the countries.
They have no economic power and legal status to defend their will by legal means, and if the abuse happens to be perpetrated by their own parents they can't do pretty much anything. They can only wait to become legally adult, and then? Their life is pretty ruined already.
