Hello /p/ I am a newcomer here, I recently received a canon EOS 5D and would like to get into photography.

Do you happen to have an absolute beginners guide/copypasta?

    It's called "your camera's manual."

    Read it, twice.

Well I already did that, I know how to use the camera. I am just unclear on the basic Do's and Don'ts of photography, how to shoot a proper photo etc.

That takes lots of practice. Go out, shoot thousands of photos. Post them here, get critique.

Seriously, if you aren't willing to put in your own effort in doing research in understanding how cameras work, how shutter speed, ISO, aperture, depth of field all work together, and how to frame good shots, then you were never going to do anything with the camera anyway.
    >> Anonymous 09/23/11(Fri)14:04 No.1399257
Just go out and shoot and try to take consideration in the composition of what you're framing, don't only focus in the subject, the background is also important. Try not to abuse of Lightroom/Photoshop presets, it actually makes your photos look generic and disgusting. Reading experiences and watching other people's work is good too.

    Be sincere with yourself.

Relax Sargent Hardass, I was just asking for quick tips before I got started, I am at work now.

I guess you missed the part where I asked for COPYPASTA'S and guides, not specifically asking you to type anything, in fact you didn't even have to post in this thread. Lose the since of entitlement brah.

what were you saying about entitled?

download the 50D manual and read it. or a 50D for dummies book if you can find one. After you know what the fuck everything does, then you can actually begin to learn.

    >>1399306
he corrected and said it was a 50D

One of you worthless cocksmokers should just post the link to the regular 'photography book' thread that pops up. I'm sure someone has it saved as a jpg or txt.
Sorry OP, i don't. Maybe its in the archive.
