I assume you already have the 18-55mm kit lens so just get the 55-250mm to go with it.

Yeah, a lot of the photos I took for the show were around 200mm so I probably may not go up to 250mm. I don't know if the f-number will make a difference in my future photos since Canon and Nikon have their lens at f/3.5-5.6 while Tamron goes up to f/6.3. I'm still a newbie at this.

Canon autofocus sucks balls in low light (in the bad way.)
The only one in focus is the one that had enough white to get enough contrast to get a good focus. (Did I mention that Canon autofocus sucks?)
