    Hey /p/

First time poster here but I've been lurking around a few days without finding an answer. I found an old Polaroid Instant camera (the on pictured) at a vintage store and picked it up on the cheap- I've always wanted to make a Polaroid scrapbook!

Problem is I cant find where to get film.. It takes Polaroid 600 plus. I figured this might be a good place to ask!

Thanks for any help you can offer :p

they stopped making it a year ago.

you can probably find expired film on ebay.

There was a website I found that was selling custom Polaroid film, because obviously the original film has stopped being made. I'll start looking for it, OP

    Here it is:
    http://shop.the-impossible-project.com/shop/

You'll want some of the Px 600 film, if I am correct. Enjoy!

the place is called 'the impossible project', and they failed to produce a functioning film.
they will, however, sell you somewhat non-functional film at like 5 bucks per shot, but it doesn't produce very strong images and those it does make fade away after a few months. don't bother trying any, just read any review of someone stuck paying $45 for a pack of eight shots of complete disappointment.

You want instant photos, pack film is the only answer still, and the Polaroid pack cameras are dirt cheap, and the Fuji-made film is better than the original.

The new emulsions have certainly been disappointing, but don't spew bullshit. They sent out free film to people who had exposure trouble, and there's been a shitload of it floating around in hipsterland where I live. Any of it has yet to fade in the 9 months or so that I've been seeing it. The 600 film is half what you claim it costs, though that's still on par with large format cost.

"disappointing"? fuck, the stuff stays photosensitive and continues to expose AFTER it leaves the fucking camera.
If you have seen an image still visible after 9 months, then its been kept in a dark drawer to slow down the inevitable fading. Leave that shit out in room light and its gone in weeks.

Why do you think the website tells you to immediately "shield image from light", and implores you to "store correctly" (i.e. cold and dark)?
Also, why do you think the film is described euphenistically as having different "moods" and giving different "sepia" -OR- "black and white" -OR- "silver" "moods" depending on "Light conditions and ambient temperature"?

What this means is the shit ain't near chemically stable near light or heat, has age stability problems and degrades quickly, and when you do take a picture you will get radically different results based on changes in temperature and light.
Sounds like they done fucked up, and need to pass it off for money anyway, as they have a lot of money piled into the defective crap they did manage to kick out.

Because the target audience is hipster.

Try it with one of the emulsions made in the past couple of months. You'll be surprised.
