Bad, you're always looking at your speed, not the road when going past. Thank God In NSW there's about 3 signs telling you there's one before you get to it.

Because then the system would be way more complicated than what it already is. You'd have to assign ways to identify what cars have special licensing to go faster. If you're licensed to speed, but your car with it's tags is in the shop, you're stuck going slower and your license isn't worth shit.

There'd be no easy or cheap way for any government to make this work.

Easy way to make shit work:
    Adopt German Autobahn laws
    ?????
    Profit

Bad, strictly revenue raising, speaking from an Aussie standpoint.

Anyone who speeds will know where they are, or have a GPS that tells you your coming upto one. You slow down, pass through it, and speed back up again. EVERYBODY fucking does it.

Also, how is it stopping speeding at the time? You speed, get hit by a camera, and crash 2 minutes down the road, WELL GOLLY IT'S GOOD THAT CAMERA WAS THERE TO STOP YOU! It's revenue raising, a fine in the mail three weeks later is not stopping speed, it's pointing out idiots who can't see them coming.

i'm against current speed limit laws because they are counter intuitive and take/keep the average driver's eyes off the road and on their dash.

I am in many ways a Classical Liberal on things like these: i don't believe in preventionism because it punishes those who are innocent of harm. I believe in harsher punishment for those proven guilty of causing harm or recklessly endangering. (This is an underlying philosophy which i believe would change the world for the very very better.)

Speeding does not necessarily equal recklessly endangering or threatening harm. The amount of times we've all gone a bit or a lot over when we were absolutely sure of the safety of that overaction, after consideration, and with constant situational awareness..

    Short answer: maybe

Long answer: it heavily depends on their location and regulations governing their use

You couldn't get away with that here.
    >Police dash cams read and run all plates they see
You would drive maybe a week before getting pulled over, arrested and your car impounded over not paying a 90 dollar ticket.

But if they put them up here you can bet your ass I'd tear them all down.
    >> TW@ !Qm.ZpZON9c 12/06/11(Tue)04:50 No.5574084
    >>5574063
Well the police department wasn't in charge of handling the speed cams so I guess that's why people got away with it

The police department isn't in charge of a lot of things.
Such as collecting on tickets in general.
Hell the DMV isn't even in charge of revoking your license.
The Department of Revenue does that.
