32 KB Turkish girl 'buried alive' in family garden Anonymous 02/05/10(Fri)21:05 No.94834
A Turkish teenager found dead in a hole next to her house was probably buried alive, a post-mortem examination has revealed.

Medine Memi, 16, was found in the hole in December. Large amounts of soil were in her lungs and stomach, according to a source who has seen the report.

Her father and grandfather have been arrested, but not charged.

So-called "honour killings" take place every year in Turkey despite government moves to stamp out the practice.

That's very twisted and a horrible way to die. I have to give the father and grandfather credit for being truly cruel individuals.

To the picture in the OP: I say they need to admit Turkey.
This attached story is just as horrid as that Josef Fritzl monster, or any other similar case.
The "Western world" is getting older, while the so called Third world, many Muslim countries, are going to be younger. Its smart to keep them close and help to influence them. A big part of the reason the US won't just pull out of Afghanistan. These people will either be our friends or our enemies.

Its fundamentalism at its darkest. And conservatives are Americas fundamentalists. Though not as bad in the land of the rich, some of them still want to string up "niggers" Especially those in DC.

Also, by rejecting Turkey from the EU we've basically pushed them into the hands of the Islamists. Turkey has gone from a secular ally of Europe to an ally of Iran, Syria, and Lebanon.

They have moral agency. The EU could not have admitted Turkey before now because they have simply chosen not to meet the criteria.

If they go into the hands of the Islamists then they have chosen to do so. The idea that Europe has forced them to do so is not recognising reality.

My source was from a Foreign Affairs magazine article, The New Population Bomb
http://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/65735/jack-a-goldstone/the-new-population-bomb (Sorry, you should read it at a local bookstore)
It talks of the whole of the Third world up to 2050. Its goinf to be a crazy century

Until Turkey has significantly reduced the incidents of honor killings, they should be admitted to the EU, plain and simple. If Turkey is a secular country, they would be planning a crackdown on these honor killings.

Point was that admitting Turkey to the EU isn't going to solve any "pension's timebomb" or somesuch because they are not high fertiliy.

Neither would admitting 7 children per woman Niger for that matter. Though for somewhat different reasons.

TFR is largely related to whether a country has laws against child labour and whether they are enforced.

Immigrants from high TFR countries are, on average, economically unproductive enough that they are no benefit.

    >DIPLOMACY MAN! DIPLOMACY!

Diplomacy is nowhere near enough of a reason to admit a country to the EU. In USA terms that's a free green card to every citizen in the country.
