3. So no taxes then? You dumbass
4. So we should all work until we're 84 and die?
7. So we should all have to pay much, much more for education? No thanks. College is expensive enough being 'Public' - not to mention how much private four-year colleges cost. If anything, eliminate Private schooling and home-schooling so we don't have ghetto schools in some areas, and rich, white suburban schools in other area. It creates problems.

Everything else is good though, well played. I never thought I'd disagree AND agree so much.

you seem to think that competition doesn't breed excellence. I believe that privatized schools will be a good thing. Private schools are expensive now, yes.

But open the doors to true competition, and it will drive costs down. I imagine that, even in the "walmart of schools" you will likely get a better education than you can at most inner city public schools right now.

7; No. Government should realize that education is its most important investment and take a firm, direct hand.
8; Eventually
9; Uhh... what? You mean the way the EU has it set up? Sure. If you mean try to merge.. eh... no
10. I don't think so.

No, what the U.S needs to do is realize that its problems stem from a poor foundation. I will simply this down. You build a house. You built it on an uneven foundation, a weak foundation, but you still build ontop of it. It works, for a while. For a long time if you are lucky, but eventually, you will have to repair it right? As with any house, sure. Now, what do you find? Most of your problems stem not from old age or wear and tear, but from a shitty foundation. What do you do? Well the U.S has decided to just try to repair the house, fix it up, make it look nice. What they need to do? Break that foundation, reset it. A house built upon a foundation of shit will only sink into shit.

While I agree with most of your post, it's hard to deny that 1) those "niggers" provided our country with the slave labor that built the strong foundation we have. They are citizens so it would be hard to deport them. Let's encourage the good blacks to improve the niggers, or at least continue to encourage the nignogs to persue football and basketball and other legitimate avenues.
2) I find that most mexicans/Hispanics are hard working and family oriented with decent values. Let's clear up the illegals issue and be glad we have allies with these people. I don't mind the mexicans.

I agree with almost all of these except privatizing education. Now if you defederalized it...that's a different thing entirely, I would whole heartedly agree that education should be up to the state/local government and not the Feds.

And I presume that the Universal Healthcare will have components which resemble Social Security/end-of-life funds? Taking full care of our old people is financially burdensome, even on a higher middle class family.

I would like taking down the border with Canada, but the border with Mexico should probably remain up...it's not the Mexicans themselves, it's the fact that their government is not strong enough to prevent undesirables originating even farther south to come up through their country and enter ours. That's my only complaint; it could be remedied by helping Mexico increase their own border defenses so that the anarchic environments of countries like Colombia don't have an adverse effect.

My version is better:

1. Eliminate state regulation of marriage beyond contract enforcement.
2. Legalize all drugs. Self ownership means you can choose what you put into your body.
3. Eliminate the income tax. Taxing productivity dsincentivizes it.
4. Privatize social security with the end goal of eliminating it by the time Generation X comes to retirement age.
5. Close all foreign military bases
6. Return to the American tradition of no standing armies outside of wartime. Empower the state militias.
7. Privatize education
8. Deregulate healthcare and eliminate mandatory emergency room acceptance. Tired of paying $400 for stitches at the ER? If you weren't paying the bills of deadbeats as well, it might be more reasonable. Can't afford to see a doctor for stitches? Go to a nurse. More low cost option drives competition, and allows for more accessibility for the poor.
9. Allow states more enforcement of their own borders, interstate and international.
10. Eliminate Department of Homeland Security, Department of Education, FDA, USDA, and scores of other unelected bureaucrats.

Restoration of Tariffs: Globalization can happen on an electronic scale; on a realistic scale it can only go on so long as gas prices are still reasonable. Marriage is considered a sacrament in the Catholic Church. I oppose government sanction of gay marriage, since I believe that marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman.
However, I do not wish to deprive a couple of the same LEGAL rights and responsibilities of another.

Therefore, the best solution is to change the legal term to "Civil Union".

>Legalize gay marriage

You people are silly. Giving gays the same "rights" as normal couples defeats the purpose tax wise. People are given tax breaks when they get married because they can
reproduce
. Since gays don't have that function between the two of them, they don't deserve the breaks that normal married couples get. It has nothing to do with "intolerance" or any stupid idea like that which seems to get thrown around. You can still call them your husband/wife with a civil union but if you think that a marriage that can produce a family is the same as one that can't (without adoption or surrogate parents) then you don't know have any idea what you're talking about.

And for couples who don't reproduce (because of biological issues or otherwise)? And what about gay couples who choose to adopt or have a child through a surrogate?

THIS
>> ResidentConservifag !Gey8iGXheg 02/03/10(Wed)07:39 No.79807
>>79789

Can't help the biological part. Yeah it sucks but you can't handicap them for biologically having the ability from birth even when it's blocked beyond their control (i.e. narrow urethas, barren wombs, etc). People who choose not to have children have that right and deserve it because they still have the ability to do so. Gays don't have the option whatsoever without adoption. I do believe they should have the option to adopt because I don't believe being gay is a choice people make. So a child watching their parents being "gay together" will effect how they turn out as adults. But they don't deserve the breaks because without that option, they have nothing to contribute through passing of genes from parent to child. Surrogates also don't count because it's not DNA from both parents. Only one.
>> heartsonfire !!5xDKwnYEOZt 02/03/10(Wed)07:42 No.79819
>>79807
Well, if you think being gay is an issue of biology and not a personal choice, shouldn't they be afforded the same rights as a straight couple who can't reproduce because of biological factors?

And why exactly do you discriminate between a child produced with direct genetic inheritance and a child without?
>> heartsonfire !!5xDKwnYEOZt 02/03/10(Wed)07:43 No.79820
>>79819
Not to mention, if this is purely a matter regarding tax breaks, you don't think it's unfair to financially punish a child who was adopted by gay parents?
>> ResidentConservifag !Gey8iGXheg 02/03/10(Wed)07:50 No.79834
>>79819
>>79820

That was just my personal opinion. Others see it as a "personal choice" but I don't think that men just wake up one day and think, "I like dongs now." I don't see that as a logical step someone takes. While it may seem like I'm setting a double standard, I'm going to and say yeah it's unfortunate about the biological thing. But for a gay couple to say they are just like any other couple is casein point incorrect. As much as they want to be normal, it is still mostly abnormal in our current world. The gay community may have a big presence but it's far from being humanly normal.

Again this is only how I feel about it. I'm not making a case for anyone who feels they shouldn't legalize gay marriage.

Gay people, while taking care of a child, they have nothing vested in this child besides pure emotional attachment. They have no choice in having a child where each parent contributes the chromosomes to the child. I'm not sure if that sound convoluted or not but I feel it's not justification when they only support someone else's contribution rather than their own.

You can say the same thing about straight couples who adopt though. But under your terms, they'd still be given financial advantages that gay couples who choose to adopt aren't given.

Because they have the organs necessary for creating their own parasite. Biological impairments be damned, gay people don't have that option with each other either way.

I don't expect to be understood. As I said, it's probably really convoluted and double standard of me to think this way but iot makes sense in my head.

straight couples don't have anything but an emotional attachment. Foster families don't have anything but an emotional attachment (sometimes not even)

I used to be anti-gay-marriage, but I don't see the point.

> ResidentConservifag said that gay couples should not be given the same "rights" as straight couples
He's a faggot too
Seriously, it's faggots like him that give such a bad name to the religious folk of America

>creating their own parasite.
Lol, just don't refer to your own children as that in the future. ;P

Well, it seems like we're at an impasse of fundamental differences. Still, I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions.

Thanks for not completing what he said. Religious fags would agree with me but not for the same reasons. As I said before, my personal opinion is not necessarily shared by others but it's what I think on the subject.

Not a 'sir' actually, but I'll overlook the misconception.

I think >>79932 is a bit perturbed that there can be civil disagreements on /new/.

>1. Legalize gay marriage
Fuck those homosexuals. Why should the country support them?
>2. Legalize marijuana
Fuck those druggies. Why should the country support them?
>3. Eliminate IRS
Works for me.
>4. Eliminate Social Security
Works for me.
>5. Close all foreign military bases
Works for me.
>6. Reduce military spending
Fuck that. Why should we reduce it?
>7. Privitize education
That would work for me. Children no longer being indoctrinated by the state.
>8. Universal healthcare
Fuck that. I don't trust my government with my money, I'm not going to trust them with my health care. Why should there be universal health care?
>9. Eliminate borders between Canada and Mexico
Oh shut the fuck up hippie. Why the fuck should we do that?
>10. Eliminate Department of Homeland Security
Give me a fucking break. Why?
