If concealed carry was allowed in schools, then there would be a plummet in crime rates in schools.

Military personnel should be required to carry a sidearm while on base.

If the posters on /new/ are any indication, no one should EVER be allowed to possess a gun, or a weapon of any kind.

Basically, some weapons should not be allowed to be owned by civilians. Why the fuck does the average person need a grenade launcher? (in before "to fight tyrannical gub'mint") So we should place limits on the types of weapons people can own.

On the remaining weapons, nothing is lost by making them safer. If people are going to use weapons, they should know how to use and operate them effectively, so throw in some training classes prior to purchase.

Think of it like driver's ed: You'd sit in classes about how to properly care for and maintain a variety of guns, you'd see the gun safety version of Red Asphalt (real crowd pleaser, that one), you'd have mandatory range time, and at the end of it you take both a written and a practical test, are given your license and off you go.

The definition of "assault weapon." Basically, there isn't one (at least none that has ever been used in any legislation) that defines what makes one *functionally* different from a hunting rifle.
