Why is the tea party made up almost entirely of white people? Is it because minorities don't care about fiscal responsibility and curtailing out-of-control government spending?
    >> Anonymous 04/23/10(Fri)08:23 No.709650
    They're all butthurt republicans.
    >> Anonymous 04/23/10(Fri)08:23 No.709654
because minorities don't watch Fox News.
    >> Anonymous 04/23/10(Fri)08:25 No.709665
They're all people who can go and protest all week, when on weekdays the rest of us have to be at our jobs. They complain about unemployment and welfare, so they must not be unemployed, that leaves well off enough that they can go bitch about things.
    >> Anonymous 04/23/10(Fri)08:34 No.709705
Because white people are afraid that it's going to be there turn soon.
    >> Anonymous 04/23/10(Fri)08:46 No.709744

Because the majority of minorities (HAH) have been educated to the "racism" of the Tea Party, and cause them to shun the Party away for that reason only. Why do you think just about all the other news networks other than Fox try so damn hard to paint them as racists?

If these underhanded shenanigans were not a so accepted practice, the Tea Party would be much bigger and filled with a wider variety.

think about it like this. if Bush, for whatever reason, had a 3rd term or if McCain had won in 2008, would the tea party movement exist?

    no

The republicans could have won in 2008 and continued fucking the economy and jacking up debt and the tea party would still not exist.
    >> Anonymous 04/23/10(Fri)09:02 No.709815
The tea party is basically two things:

    1. Hatred over democrats winning

    2. Racism

This shit would not be going on with those people if it hadn't been for a half black democrat becoming president.

That's the thing. If they were so serious about not appearing racist, they are doing very little to prevent it.

Even the neo-nazi movements try very hard to quiet members who walk around in Nazi uniforms. They realize it's not good PR, yet the tea party fails to understand this.

that's actually an interesting concept. you're saying that every little thing that's meant for society is actually looked at selfishly, but really, isn't that just human nature? if it doesn't immediately benefit you, you automatically blame who it does benefit instead of you, right? so if something is meant to help the poorest of your society, it obviously must harm those that aren't the poorest, therefore the poor should be disregarded and/or hated. basically we've become too jaded is what you're saying. too obsessed with money, too materialistic. not mention the shitty economy which already has everyone on edge, not to mention the black man.

If the Taliban lived in their own community, like the Amish and didn't bother anybody and didn't sell drugs and harbor terrorists, they could do what they want. Opium grows like weeds in Afghanistan. They sell it to get money for food that is imported or grown in other areas of the country.

They will need alot of agricultural help to grow crops. The Marjah area had an irrigation system that broke down. The people and the government haven't fixed it and obviously can't maintain it. The poppies grow by themselves, plus the Taliban drug lords make money reselling the Opium, not so much with food crops.

    >> Anonymous 04/23/10(Fri)11:20 No.710458
The tea party can't be about taxes as Obama has implemented the largest tax break in American history.

The tea party can't be about government spending as everyone knows the proper response to a precipitous drop in aggregate demand is to both cut taxes and increase spending by the government.

The tea party can't be about fiscal responsibility as Obama passed an expansion of health care and actually implemented a way to pay for it at the same time. When Bush passed Medicare D and invaded Iraq with no funding mechanisms there were no tea parties.

The only rational explanation for the tea party movement is that its members are some combination of ignorant, irrational, misinformed, stupid, and racist.

It wasn't a tax cut. The government borrowed money to give $500 to each taxpayer. They told employers to reduce tax withholding for two years. The lower withholding just meant people got part of their income tax refund earlier and they got a smaller refund when they filed their taxes. People who don't owe Federal income taxes just got free money, no tax cut.

Liberals have strange ideas about economics.

It's only been one month and the Government Health and Human Services department says the plan is going to raise costs by 1% in the first ten years - not reduce them at all.

The stimulus was supposed to cost $787 billion, 13 months in the OBM said it actually is costing $862 billion ($75 billion over in 13 months)

"But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, since Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, the report warned."

"In addition to flagging provider cuts as potentially unsustainable, the report projected that reductions in payments to private Medicare Advantage plans would trigger an exodus from the popular alternative. Enrollment would plummet by about 50 percent. Seniors leaving the private plans would still have health insurance under traditional Medicare, but many might face higher out-of-pocket costs.

In another flashing yellow light, the report warned that a new voluntary long-term care insurance program created under the law faces "a very serious risk" of insolvency."

It's only been a month. 1% increase per month will really add up.

"The report projected that Medicare cuts could drive about 15 percent of hospitals and other institutional providers into the red, "possibly jeopardizing access" to care for seniors."

Hospitals going broke is really going to help. We're adding 34 million people to a system with shortages of medical personnel and 15% of hospitals will have to go broke or stop treating people with government insurance. Good job liberals.

47% got a handout? Never heard of payroll taxes?

Those that do pay federal income taxes kept more of their money over the course of the year and the only people that got a smaller refund are those whose withholding over the course of the year exceeded the maximum $400 individual or $800 family tax credit. Everyone in the middle class paid less federal taxes last year, even families that got a smaller refund than they otherwise would have had already received a greater than $800 tax cut due to less withholding.

The reduction in the federal tax burden combined with various tax credits resulted in an approximately 140B transfer of money from the federal government to the middle class and poor through the tax code last year. That is the largest inflation-adjusted and per capita tax break in American history.

47% don't pay Federal Income taxes and they get an "earned income tax credit" that essentially refunds their payroll taxes. Now they got their refund increased by $500 by lower withholding and they still get the EITC, a handout.

Eliminating the exclusion for pre-existing and removing lifetime caps on coverage isn't Insurance....it's Pre-Payment for every healthcare bill..it's insane.

It will be like the government telling Auto companies and auto insurance companies that they had to offer lifetime warranties on anything that breaks on the car and they couldn't drop you no matter how many times you wrecked the car and they had to pay unlimited liability if you get sued.
