What company, and how old are you?

Also, if you get fired, what are the odds of your quality of life NOT plummeting?

Naw brah. Dedicated people can be successful with just a high school diploma, but it's a bit of a statistical anomaly.
    >> Anonymous 04/20/10(Tue)21:44 No.686159
Why would i be mad? Life isn't a zero-sum game.

OP, how did you got your full time job so easy? You only got a high school diploma, so you have to have some good connections to get that job.

OP works at his family's business. I know about 10 people just like this. either that, or a troll

not a troll. found the job on craigslist. sorry about all this.
    >> Anonymous 04/20/10(Tue)21:55 No.686254
    OP, we are similar.

Worked for the same small computer business for 4 years. Started doing shit projects. Eventually became sales leader. Stayed sales leader every single day. Eventually became entrusted with a key. Eventually became a manager. Eventually became the only guy to show up for 9 hour shifts on a consistent basis.

$8.50/hour, no benefits, no reimbursements for gas, slight discount on computer parts.

    - Graduate with a decent GPA
    - Take a year off after graduation
    - Start taking classes at junior college
    - Become depressed
    - Fall way behind friends
    - Become even more depressed
    - Drop out of school
    - Start drinking
    - Get involved with a girl I don't really like
    - Consider suicide
    - Stop drinking
    - Grandmother sells house, gives me the money
    - Break up with girlfriend
    - Move into better apartment, alone
    - Get a job
    - Go back to school
    - Make friends

I can relate to OP a bit. I dropped out of college twice yet landed a sweet ass supervising job through hard work with great pay, full benefits, office, company vehicle, and a few other nice perks. I honestly feel bad for a lot of my college-fag friends who've had to resort to working offshore because they can't get a job for whatever reason with their degrees.

Since the majority of 4chan users are know it all first semester college faggots let me throw out the following advice: A college education is great but doesn't guarantee you shit. Lose your sense of entitlement when you finish school and be prepared to work hard. You'll get a lot further this way.

statistical anomalies do not make good advice
proud of you OP, wish it would happen to more people
though sometimes hard work isn't enough
remember that not everyone ends up like you

Right place, right time, right connections.

Life is a lot about luck, but if you don't give up, you get more rolls at the dice.

To give you an example, when a company is looking for a new CEO they don't look on average for anyone in their own organization but from the old boys CEO club no matter how bad they are.
