04/05/10(Mon)11:14 No.540225>>540199 I suppose I
don't blame you for not understanding how med school applications work.
Having
worked on the admissions comittee for a year now as an interviewer,
I'll give you an inside look.
Medical schools are inundated with
quality applicants. Everyone has a 3.4-4.0 GPA 3.5+ science GPA and 30+
MCAT score. Everyone. Schools can whittle down a few of the choices
based on a few factors: reputation of the college, a letter from an
especially well known prof, decent research publications, family
history, and extraordinary clinical experience.
When i found out I
wasn't accepted to U of Chi, i called in to find out how i could
strengthen my resume. I got lucky because I was able to get a straight
answer from the admissions guy on duty, "You would have gotten in, but
the quota was full". Was I less qualified than the other candidates?
Probably not. Application is a crapshoot. But it's pure faggotry when
your skin color counts against you. |
