  • Kimmo Alm aka "Sysop" from AnT has been spamming us for YEARS now, and has recently stepped it up. This shit has got to fucking stop.
As promised, here are all of the e-mails he has sent me over the years (and my responses).
    ↑ UPDATED March 16th! ↑
One of Kimmo's ex-moderators posted hundreds of PMs. They are absolutely hilarious/terrifying.

Force you to pay a fine if you don't pay an insurance company. This is how the democrats punish evil insurance companies.

So if your doctor bills were less than $3500...or is it $4500... last year then you're basically being fucked. hard.

It gives some people Canadian style care with American premiums and everyone has to pay for it. So in other words, you pay more, wait longer, and get less. Typical financial effects based operations. You stupid humans are being dominated on all fronts and there's nothing you can do about it.

Dependents can stay on parents' health insurance longer

No more denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions

No cancelling coverage when a patient gets sick

No annual or lifetime caps on payment for treatment

Expands Medicaid so more families can get health insurance

Sets up, in the future, large exchanges where millions can buy health insurance policies as a group, thus being able to get a lower rate from economies of scale.

Requires everyone to buy health insurance, provides subsidies to most people to make things cheaper.

According to CBO, shaves about $130 billion off the federal deficit over the next 10 years, and then more than a trillion off over the decade after that.

Pays for it all by cutting the weird Medicare Advantage plan, which basically pays insurance companies to insure people instead of Medicare (at about twice the cost), and by raising taxes on rich people very slightly.

    Meh.
    >> Anonymous 03/21/10(Sun)23:26 No.396294
It forces you to have health insurance because if you don't and you go to the emergency room, you get a fucking huge hospital bill that you can't pay if you're poor, and the TAXPAYERS pay for it

the same people saying I DONT WANNA BE FORCED INTO INSURANCE are crying about having to pay for other people's healthcare, which is what they are doing to everyone else
    >> Anonymous 03/21/10(Sun)23:28 No.396365
the funny thing is that in 10 years, most doctors and pharmacies won't accept medicare or medicaid patients anymore. Those customers are served at a loss right now and it's getting worse.
    >> Anonymous 03/21/10(Sun)23:28 No.396377
So they say that an insurance company can't deny you for pre-existing conditions, but do they cap how much the insurance company premiums are? Will they just be able to charge the shit out of you?

I like how you outlined it without the use of sarcasm and rhetoric, like many others have been tempted to do. That said, I really don't see how any of this is controversial, with the exception of:

    >Dependents can stay on parents' health insurance longer
Discourages kids from moving the fuck out and being productive members of society

    >No more denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions
Imagine if car insurance companies couldn't deny you coverage (or charge you higher prices) for having 17 DUI's
    >No cancelling coverage when a patient gets sick
This is bullshit really, didn't require this much legislation.
    >No annual or lifetime caps on payment for treatment
Don't feel bad about getting countless un-necessary medical procedures... it's FREE! (doctors gonna get paid fo realz)

Sets up, in the future, large exchanges where millions can buy health insurance policies as a group, thus being able to get a lower rate from economies of scale.
    >didn't require this legislation
Requires everyone to buy health insurance, provides subsidies to most people to make things cheaper.
    >eliminates the freedom to choose not to pay through the nose because insurance companies still have to manage risk.
According to CBO, shaves about $130 billion off the federal deficit over the next 10 years, and then more than a trillion off over the decade after that.

WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF ENACTMENT

    * Insurance companies will be barred from dropping people from coverage when they get sick. Lifetime coverage limits will be eliminated and annual limits are to be restricted.

    * Insurers will be barred from excluding children for coverage because of pre-existing conditions.

    * Young adults will be able to stay on their parents' health plans until the age of 26. Many health plans currently drop dependents from coverage when they turn 19 or finish college.

    * Uninsured adults with a pre-existing conditions will be able to obtain health coverage through a new program that will expire once new insurance exchanges begin operating in 2014.

    * A temporary reinsurance program is created to help companies maintain health coverage for early retirees between the ages of 55 and 64. This also expires in 2014.

    * Medicare drug beneficiaries who fall into the "doughnut hole" coverage gap will get a $250 rebate. The bill eventually closes that gap which currently begins after $2,700 is spent on drugs. Coverage starts again after $6,154 is spent.

    * A tax credit becomes available for some small businesses to help provide coverage for workers.

    * A 10 percent tax on indoor tanning services that use ultraviolet lamps goes into effect on July 1.

    WHAT HAPPENS IN 2011

    # Medicare provides 10 percent bonus payments to primary care physicians and general surgeons.

    # Medicare beneficiaries will be able to get a free annual wellness visit and personalized prevention plan service. New health plans will be required to cover preventive services with little or no cost to patients.

    # A new program under the Medicaid plan for the poor goes into effect in October that allows states to offer home and community based care for the disabled that might otherwise require institutional care.

    # Payments to insurers offering Medicare Advantage services are frozen at 2010 levels. These payments are to be gradually reduced to bring them more in line with traditional Medicare.

    # Employers are required to disclose the value of health benefits on employees' W-2 tax forms.

    # An annual fee is imposed on pharmaceutical companies according to market share. The fee does not apply to companies with sales of $5 million or less.
