Also Singapore is a city state that imports most of it's resources and generally people who process resources are richer than those who extract them due to greater sophistication and need for efficiency. That's not the point though, most of the population of developed countries are urbanized and Singapore still does better, and if something can't be extrapolated into a large scale, then it can be repeated. Maybe we need lots of Singapores.

Russia's much worse then most, but growth wise Vietnam and Cuba are positive, while South Africa, while negative, is still better then others.

Though I think it's silly to judge a country solely by its economy. (China, there, is doing better then others, but I seriously doubt many here would want to catch the first flight there.)
