fuck you Texas is awesome
fuck yeah texas
>>333473>>333477were those the first google images results for "degenerate"?
You mean mexico?
ahhh, north mexico.yes, it should secede
If the south are the niggers of America, Texas is their tribal lord :c
>>333494u maek funny
butthurt liberals butthurt because true american history will be taught instead of filling the books with jay-z and ru paul
Texas is anti-science, what else is new?
>>3335598/10 you'll get someone.
>>333505>>333507California is more Mexico than Texas is. Since Texas is not a liberal state, we're not giving it up to Mexico as easily as Californians are, even though wetbacks and their anchor babies are fucking everywhere. And I am in Texas and think you guys are asses for falling into th liberal spin the media is placing on it. The only thing they're trying to do is bring balance to the history books instead of making them so one-sided liberal. Yeah I know you liberals think you're the world's moral and intellectual superiors and think only you have a right to teach our children and only from a hard-left perspective, but some are tired of that bullshit and want some balance. So go join the racist hispanics in their ass pains wanting the history books to revolve around them and cry louder.
>>333661>Liberal Spin>I watch fox news for my information
>>333683>I have no argument>yell FOX NEWS REAL LOUD
Spoken like someone who's never been to Texas.Texas is fuckawesome. You can shoot trespasser, it's mostly white (until you get near the border), and there's land and resources to spare for everyone.Austin and San Antonio are especially awesome to visit as well.
>>333683You know Liberals, i'm not even a Neo-Conservative & i dislike Fox News, but your "Z0mg lulz he watches Fox News and likes Glenn Beck laugh at him!" debate tactic is one of the reasons you are oh so hated on /new/. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GET A REAL ARGUMENT.Also, the guy that posted >>333661 is right, although i don't buy into Fox News "Z0mg Liberal media conspiracy!" crap there IS a sort of Liberal bias around, especially in schools & colleges.
>>333711There totally is, dude. You know what I got taught in school about the civil war? Not shitting at all here. That the north and south fought each other because the north wanted to free the slaves. That's it. Seriously.
facepalmed at some parts and agreed with others.like this one:>In the field of sociology, another conservative member, Barbara Cargill, won passage of an amendment requiring the teaching of “the importance of personal responsibility for life choices” in a section on teenage suicide, dating violence, sexuality, drug use and eating disorders.“The topic of sociology tends to blame society for everything,” Ms. Cargill said.
>>333724>Although that IS true, ignoring all political & economical reasons that too obviously had a great impact on the war.If you're only argument is a shitty attempt at sarcasm, you're better off accusing others of watching Fox News. Although things like History & Science ARE taught very well and accurate, you have got to be crazy to say that College professors aren't Liberal-Indocrinating machines. & Although i have no problem with Liberal's stance on Social issues ( gay marriage, equal rights, abortions, no wars... all of them alright), everytime a Liberal talks about economics with his enourmous ignorance of economic theory & history and his raging Nanny state-worshipping Marxism, i wonder if Liberals are a curse on Earth summoned by a dark and cruel God.
They really don't have anything better to do, do they?
>>333748>>333661Can you actually show any specific examples of gross liberal bias in textbooks? It sounds like you're basing your opinions entirely on assumptions.
>Cynthia Dunbar, a lawyer from Richmond who is a strict constitutionalist and thinks the nation was founded on Christian beliefs, managed to cut Thomas Jefferson from a list of figures whose writings inspired revolutions in the late 18th century and 19th century, replacing him with St. Thomas Aquinas, John Calvin and William Blackstone. (Jefferson is not well liked among conservatives on the board because he coined the term “separation between church and state.”)HAHAHAHAHA. oh, you conservatives and your "religion"
i live in texas. its the best state in the union. the delicous liberal asspain tears that we do things that don't corralate with your northern liberal view of the world are delicious. seriouisly. do things how you want to do. but don't complain about us. we are nothing to do with you. you stay in your state. we will stay in ours.>>333748>you have got to be crazy to say that College professors aren't Liberal-Indocrinating machinesyou're right there dude. especially in states like CA and NY. but the pofessors in texas A&M are about as conservative as they come. the entire student body is as consevative as they come. liberals are hated there. the world liberal is like a curse word.
>>333788Re-quoting myself: >Although things like History & Science ARE taught very well and accurate,I was just saying that College professors & big part of the media have a Liberal bias ( although it is true Fox News has a GIGANTIC Neo-Con bias), textbooks are mostly fine.

>>333797>its the best>corralate>seriouisly>we are nothing to do with you>the world liberal Maybe the conservatives are right and a change in education really is desperately needed.

>>333812Science has a liberal bias.
>>333774i see nothing wrong here
>>333812This. One semester of modern history is enough. Stop wasting the student's time with "General education" requirements.
>>333840As I said here >>333831 , the point isn't that those changes are incorrect, but that there was no "liberal bias" present in the text prior to the changes. It's a waste of time and effort.
>>333841No need for students to know History, Geograpy, economics, or even any other language?Ha ha oh wow Americans.
goddamn texas, dumbfuckistan indeed.
>>333851we just need to learn how to conquer your ass financially/militarily
I think economics is the most underrepresented subject in high schoolanyway these changes seem more good than bad. My history book was pretty shit and was featured on a Tucker Carlson special as plagiarizing another textbook lol
Actually Texas is pretty fucking awesome. I'm not sure about the "countryside", but I lived a year in Houston.
>>333708San Antonio is a tourist trap shit hole. Austin is decent though. Corpus Christi is nice if you like warm empty beaches.
>>333473That is a badass shirt my friend.
>Bring nothing to the table>GDP is about equal to Canada'sNot a Texas fag, BTW. Just sayin'
I can't wait until the hispanics outnumber the whites and they vote to leave the U.S., then it's sweet, sweet bombing time!
>>335562They already do brah. Texas is a majority minority state.
>>333661You may not be giving it up, but your corporate overlords will make your efforts worthless. They want that cheap ass labor.
>>335560Their GDP is only high because they have shit funding for all of their government programs and they tax the fuck out of their state. All so that their state government has more money to play around with.Even though their GDP is similar to Canada's, their quality of life is shit compared to Canada. What good is a state's GDP if it only produces degenerates.
>>333452Hmm,Keeping the US economy from collaspingGives more than it recievesDidn't need state bailoutsDoesn't need welfare extensionsCompanies relocating here left and right.Balanced budget$10 billion in reserves.Yeah, I think we are doing something right.
Texas is actually alot more progressive than you think. They had an openly gay mayor for fuck's sakeThe cities are the same as the other cities in America; liberal and cosmopolitan.
>>335582Texas has no state income tax. What taxes were you referring to?
>>335597and the towns are filled with dumb fucks
>>335582maybe ur trolling, but texas has the LOWEST AMOUNT OF TAXATION VIS-A-VIS GDP THAN ANY OTHER STATE IN THE UNION.now tell me stupid, where in life did everything go wrong for you?

>>335672The nation needs Californian jobs to do more for California so you wont need bailing out.
>>335590Gives more than it receives? Are you high? Your state keeps it's oil money and STILL Perry was BEGGING for the stimulus money after he said "no thanks". Hypocrite fuck, do you not follow anything?

>>335740>>335736and this changes the fact texas has the lowest rate of taxation HOW exactly?
>>335740holy shit Mississippi...:'(
>>335748I lived there for a bit and I did like the lower taxes but Christ, it's like you guys are already not part of the country. Nothing would change if you left.

>>335748Well, if you go $1000 in debt on your credit card to pay for everything, then point to your savings account with $200, does that mean you are in the red or the black?

well if texas wasnt filled with spics and niggers it would be a lot different.
>>335767Actually, we do. He meant the government couldn't force a national religion like the UK had at the time. He also meant that religion has no place in our secular government. Guess which one your party is guilty of.
>>335770Hehe. It was inevitable. That's the last safe harbor idiot republicans run to when all their arguments fail.
>>335767This.I'm pretty sure he didn't mean indoctrinating people with secular egalitarianism and banning the Bible from schools.
>>335777well, how is it not right? the mudskins require the most welfare and bring down the average when we look at IQ, test scores, "human development index" (whatever stupid socialist metric thats supposed to be) and stuff.anyway, that still hasnt disproved what i said at the beginning, which is that texas has the lowest rate of taxation vis-a-vis GDP.
>>335794Perhaps that argument works if you ignore California's ranking on those lists. And Colorado. And New York. And Illinois. And....
keep being butthurt instead of taking pride in your own state.
>>335770 Ahem. New York State. Spics and Niggers. Miles above Texas. Explain.
>>335794Texas also has the highest uninsured rate in the country: 45%. That results in huge health care costs and lower quality of living. You're a bunch of idiots fighting against government programs to address all that in return for lower tax rates. Sad.
maybe you faggot liberal extremist states should make your own fucking text books instead of leeching off of Texas?
I love the northeast. Only part of the US thats worthwhile anymore.
>>333661I'm from Austin so I'm a far left communist by default, but did you even read that article? Don McLeroy is not the kind of person we want to "balance out" the alleged "liberal bias" in the our textbooks. THE MAN IS A FUCKING DENTIST BY PROFESSION, who was appointed by none other than our cronyist Bilderberg group member governer. These people on the texas state board of education are literally insane, and it's shameful that they were appointed to set the standards for our children's education.
>>335821When you state is crumbling that shit will mean nothing.
>>335821>implying insurance leads to higher standards of livingRemember when people weren't forced to have insurance yet had cheaper health care? (1950s and earlier about)
>>335850So get rid of the fucking insurance companies altogether then. Government AND private.
>>335850>implying you're not a complete ignorant moronPeople without health care insurance have a 40% greater chance of death compared to those with health care insurance EACH YEAR. 45,000 a year die due to lack of health care. It means everything, retard.
from OP articleTaxation· A 2003 report listed Texas’ tax system as one of the “TerribleTen” most regressive states in the nation.178· The same 2003 report found that Texas requires families in thebottom 20 percent of the income scale to pay more than threetimes as great a share of their earnings in taxes as the top onepercent.179· Sales tax, amongst the most regressive of all taxes, forces thepoorest 20 percent of Texas households to pay more thanthree times as great a share of their income in taxes as therichest 20 percent.180
itt: faggots arguing over what state is best through statistics. illinois generally ranks pretty damn high on human development scales among others and it is THE worst state in the union. i've lived here for 3 years and its un-fucking-believable the stupid shit that flies here
>>335862people die of unhealthy lifestyles, not lack of health care. this is the first thing you entitlement ridden lard asses need to understand.
>TAX TAX TAX ONLY THING THAT MATTERSMove to Somalia. Its even better than Texas in that case.
>>335794Holy shit I just realized that this motherfucker brushed off the HDI as inconsequential. This is no ordinary troll.
>>335877What does your opinion of whats unbelievable have to do with FACTUAL DATA?
>>335883Wrong. People with the exact same lifestyles are what are compared.>A recent study on health disparities documents how health status improves across all ethnicities after people turn age 65 and many become eligible for Medicare, reported in Reuters. In the study of more than 6,000 middle-aged and elderly Americans, their blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar control all improved once they were Medicare eligible, a result many are using to advocate for universal health care coverage.http://www.cahealthadvocates.org/news/disparities/2009/continued.html
>>335877No, we're arguing about how texas is unanimously the worst state.
>>335862That's because you're using shitty samples and assuming causation. Most uninsured are unemployed because most employers are required to have health insurance. Poor unemployed people can't afford health care derp, but that doesn't mean insurance (or managed care, really) is good overall.
>>335734See>>335736Please note that this is an older figure and doesn't reflect Texas' stronger position. The difference is even greater now.
>>335898this factual data proves what? that we should all move to connecticut? the best state to live in is purely subjective. i think illinois is a shit hole but i'd love to live in texas/new mexico/arizona/nevada and statistics aren't going to change that.tl;dr - statistics are only useful for backing up your opinion. it's all fucking pointless
Now if we could just get rid of Texas and Mississippi the whole world would be a better place.
>>333711>there IS a sort of Liberal bias around, especially in schools & colleges.NO SHIT IT IS CALLED BEING EDUCATED
>>335900protip - despite what drug companies and the FDA will tell you, pills and surgery rarely will solve your health problems. look around you, right now we are experiencing record levels of obesity, heart disease, cancer, and many other preventable bullshit but we have it not because of a lack of sick care but because modern man lives a completely horrible lifestyle. do some real research and not just corporate propaganda.
>>335941Kansas teaches creationism in schools. As a whole they're more educated than people in California or NewYork.
>>335867I guess with this information, people would rather have a job to pay taxes on than no job at all like in other states?
>>333708>Spoken like someone who's never been to Texas.Exactly. Texas is fucking awesome.
>>335929Of course its subjective. If you want better education, better healthcare, less religious fanaticism, and more money then you need to move to the northeast. I respect your right to choose to live in a backwoods shithole. Just know that it is a shithole.
ITT: liberals getting defensive because they know California is without a doubt the worst state.
>>335910>most employers are required to have health insurance. i lol'd. You're so full of shit. There is NO employer mandate, idiot.>Poor unemployed people can't afford health care derp, but that doesn't mean insurance (or managed care, really) is good overall. What part of the study I linked didn't you understand. It has EVERYTHING to do with insurance.
>>335967 The weather and beaches are nice, though.
>>335962>northeast>more moneyhow's new york treating you?
>>335952>pills and surgery rarely will solve your health problems.Oh man, I don't even dare to ask what you'd consider to be better alternatives, especially when it comes to the treatment of health issues that are *not* preventable and entirely unrelated to one's lifestyle.
>>335967WHAT? California has budget issues, but in everything else, California is MILES ahead of shitty texas. And I see some retard on here saying "statistics don't matter I still want to move to texas which means texas is better hurr." Too funny.
>>335941Liberals fresh out of 4-year college have got to be some of the most foolish and gullible people in the country. It really does take a higher education like that to come up with the most senseless policy ideas in history. Note that I didn't say "stupid", just foolish.
>>335985New Yorkers have some of the highest incomes in the nation so wtf are you going on about?

>>336000is that why new yorkers and so many people up north are flocking to more conservative states where cost of living is noticeably cheaper?
>>335996>California has budget issuesThat's quite an understatement. California is also a massive welfare and nanny state, with high taxes and a fuckton of regulations. I would never in a million years live in California. I would love to live in Texas.

>>336029>>336020THIS IS WHAT LIBERALS ACTUALLY BELIEVE

>>336009Honestly I wouldn't expect much more from McCain voters. There are stupid people and intelligent people on both sides. Therefore I'm in favor of a basic civics test and a small fee to get registered to vote. Also raising the universal age back up to 21.
I think its time we do whats been necessary. Split the north and the south into two separate nations.
>>336060> implying inflation means higher wages
>>336074why should there be a fee?
>>336077>implying that implication makes any sense
>>336097protip, since i know it's hard for you liberals to understand economics - yes people make more money but they also have to spend a shitload more which is why i made my point that so many northern states are hemorrhaging citizens for the south.
>>336041I have family in California. Some parts are very nice but if you do much traveling there are large swaths of areas that are shit holes. Every time I hear how much people pay for their tiny homes over there I bust out laughing. Every time I go to the pump I cringe. The beaches are about the only thing good in California. Even then the last time I was over there half the state was on fire and the smell of smoke ruined it. Massachusetts/Connecticut fucking awesome btw

North Dallas, Certain parts of Fort Worth (around the Kimbell Art Museum) and Austin are very musically and art inclined. The Kimbell Art Museum has one of the last Da Vinci paintings, and Austin hosts ACL. parts of NX35, and South by Southwest go on in Texas. And certain parts are very Urban cultural area's.
