  • Since I've been on a Q&A kick in /a/ and /r9k/ recently, I've decided to set up a formspring account for publicly answering 4chan related questions. You'll find it linked in the navbar as "?", and located here: formspring.me/4chan. Also, if you use Twitter, please follow @4chan. As always, I can be contacted via e-mail at moot@4chan.org (Despite the common misconception, I check it frequently and read every message I receive. Nobody seems to e-mail me about anything other than being banned though ;_;)
EDIT: Site went down due to a hardware issue. Should be fixed now.

112 KB What 'Change'? Young Dem Support Crumbles Anonymous 02/26/10(Fri)10:26 No.228050
WASHINGTON -- Whither the American youth vote? A year after supporting Barack Obama for president by an overwhelming 2-to-1 ratio, young adults are cooling quickly toward his Democrats amid dissatisfaction over the lack of change in Washington and an escalating war in Afghanistan.

A study by the Pew Research Center, being released Wednesday, highlights the eroding support from 18- to 29-year- olds whose strong turnout in November 2008 was read by some demographers as the start of a new Democratic movement.

Fickle hipsters only support canidates when it will make them look edgy and anti-establishment. Now that Obama is part of 'the establishment' supporting him is no longer cool.

He's done nothing but pander to retarded Republicunts since he got into power. Of course he's losing support. What we needed was a strong Democratic President. We didn't get one.
    >> Anonymous 02/26/10(Fri)10:36 No.228080
what are you talking about? Obama was never "anti-establishment". The only thing he was, was black and all the white youth thought THAT was edgy and cool. fuck the nigs.

i was a ron paul supporter since i could vote. he predicted most of the current shit were in right now, smartest politician we have currently, only drawback is he doesnt support evolution, which is a huge drawback in my book.

The main reason why Americans voted for Obama is because of his campaign slogan of "Change". During the campaign all he talked about was "Change" and "Hope", but little about the campaign promises. In reality Obama is just another president continuing the policies of the previous president.

While Obama did produced some "Change" that is non-controversial, the major change he promises like Health Care has not brung about, and despite alternatives that could solve the problem easily like Single payer heath care, he has rejected those proposals despite popular demand.

Finally, most American do not research their political candidates, they mostly follow the party affiliation as a guide. Problem is that, for most cases, the Democratic and Republican parties are one and the same, joined by the wallet.

Just saying you are way too early in your analysis of his presidency. he hasn't even reached the half-way point and already you are trying to call it a failure.

Just shows how much of a partisan hack you are.

    >I think it is amazing how much he has gotten done, and how much more they are going to get done.

Again, most of the changes he did were relatively non-controversial. When I mean non-controversial, I mean changes that do not directly affect the corporations that control American politics.

That describes the majority of Republicans.

Hell, they've been calling his presidency a failure since his second month in office.

Well, he isn't trying to get assassinated in his first year. He'll probably make it through re-election before they take him out for Biden.
