Not even close dimwit. Republicans realize that government is necessary to preform a few essential functions. National and local security, courts, international relations. Democrats think that government should have it's fingers in everything, oh, and by the way, these things should benefit them and be paid for by other people, preferably Republicans.

Most Tea Baggers are not overwhelmingly affected by taxes.

The truth is, conservative pull comes from other facets of their party, like the religious, homely subtext. It's the best way to feast on the ignorant crowd.

Liberals get the edgy want to change everything crowd.

The rest are the decisive swing voters who vote for whom their own pursuit will further. Often times, this is not a decision made based on economics and falls again, under the pretense of which rep is more likely to ban gay marriage or allow stem cell research.

When I was growing up kids didn't have to wear bicycle helmets. Today, the have to be in a booster seat until they are 4 foot 7 inches tall. (see www.boosterseats.gov)

Democrats want to control every little thing and don't care how much it costs, other people to pay for it. They are really bogging down society. Now kids who's parents can barely afford to feed them can't ride a bike without somebody buying them a helmet, which of course won't be so fashionable and just make them feel more like outcasts.

What happened to a little parental responsibility? Tell the kids to ride safely, we can't afford a doctors bill and I'll kick your ass if you hurt yourself!

If the kids are going to do BMX racing and jumps and stuff, a little extra protection is waranted. Fucking liberals want to control every little thing.

If you consider results to stem from the owner of a company rather than its employees, I'd have to agree with you. But in the case of economics, I'd say the 20-80 rule has more to do with effect (80% of the wealth goes to 20% of the people) than cause.

But the purpose of the economy at large is to efficiently allocate resources. If part of the population is shut off from this allocation by unemployment, then the economy has failed.

The purpose of the economy at large is to produce godds and services that are in demand. If you can't contribute you'll be unemployed.

If you are unemployed, you better have friends and/or family that feel you contribute to their well being or are grateful for you past contributions, otherwise you are out of luck, except for charity, which there is plenty of.

Funny how liberals preach evolution and survival of the fittest, except when it comes to them or their unborn children. Having a family, community and church is more than just conservative wackyness, it's a way of life.

This was fine before the industrial revolution and one could be industrious working a traditional profession, be it farmer or shop keeper. Nowadays, one's economic productivity is almost entirely dependent on the market at large and the corporations that control it. Want to be a farmer? Enjoy competing with large companies that employ genetically modified crops, pesticides, and efficient corporate bureaucracy that will shut you out of the market. You must assimilate or go bankrupt. Want to start a small business? Enjoy being the financial sectors bitch. First sign of market turbulence and you're dead.

    >Because you are breathing somebody else has to give you a job?

Because I am breathing, I have the right to support myself. If the current system can't accommodate this, then it has failed. I'm not talking about individual entrepreneurs cutting into their bottom-line to give me a job, but speaking of the system as a whole.

    >Darwin

You obviously know nothing about Darwin if you keep using him to claim using him to justify the failures of the economy. If civilization was analogous to the way Darwin painted nature, I'd just go forcibly take some rich persons shit when I can't support myself through acceptable channels, and I'd be 'successful' in a Darwinian sense. Civilization is built on a social contract that we won't do that kind of thing for mutual benefit of each other.
