Before,
insurers could choose not to cover sick kids (who need it most) because
it would cost more money. Now, that's illegal. They have to cover
everybody, regardless of if they have a preexisting condition or not.
Sounds fair, and reasonable to me.
Insurers have adjusted by not
covering any children with individual policies [sick or healthy]. This
doesn't affect group policies, which cover most families. Again, sounds
fair and reasonable to me. If insurers don't want to cover children
individually, that's their perogative. Free country, man. |
