Scott Brown, with some justification, makes frequent claims to bipartisanship. But as the Republican senator from Massachusetts prepared to cast another vote next week against an extension of benefits for jobless Americans, he expressed frustration. Democrats, he said, never gave his alternative plan to extend benefits a serious look.“Why is it that I’m always the one that has to vote with the Democrats?’’ Brown lamented. “Bipartisanship is a two-way street, you know? Why can’t they also work together to pay for these things within the budget, within the monies that we already have? Why is it that we always have to add to the deficit?’’Brown’s unemployment plan — which calls for diverting $35 billion in stimulus money to pay for benefits for the long-term jobless and several other items — has attracted little support, even from Republicans. The Democrats’ bill is expected to pass next week without him, meaning that on unemployment, an issue that directly affects millions of Americans and tens of thousands in Massachusetts, Brown won’t be playing a pivotal role as he did on the passage of tougher financial regulations this week.Read more: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2010/07/17/browns_jobless_bill_wins_little_support/

There are thousands of American that also believe that america is fucked. But when ever they do anything you all call them a stupid hippie liberal drug nut... This may be what they call a double standard?

Brown is new. He will learn that bi partisan only means Republicans acting like Democrats
Stimulus money was charged to the deficit. Brown wanted to use money that was already increasing the deficit instead of new money that would add more to the deficit. If this is the best ideas of our highest politicians, we're truly fucked. Brown should get credit though, because his idea was lower on the fucked up scale than the Democrats.

This may be what they call a double standard? It is a double standard, they want the problem to be solved, but they do not want to solution to involve any form of socialism no matter how moderate it is. Eventually, America would be sitting on a crossroads: Adopt moderate form of socialism, or let the country rot. Because they can't have both ways.>>1727177Sad truth. Most politicians are more into political careerism than serving their constituents.
