You're all just mad because Obama has already done more than any President in the past 60 years.

Rescued the US economy with the Stimulus.

Passed sweeping health care reform legislation

    Passed sweeping financial reform legislation.

Will pass sweeping Environmental and immigration legislation before this year is done.

Has for all intents and purposes wound up operations in Iraq

Has turned the tide in Afghanistan.

LOLOLOL throw more money at it. Ask yourself this - when a person is doing bad financially, does it make sense for them to go out and spend more than they owe already, in hopes of improving their status? No, it does not. It is the opposite of what the intelligent person does. I'm not a racist and I don't hate Obama - but he has made the economy worse, and proven that he gives preferential treatment to the wealthy. I would've welcomed change. I haven't seen it, though. Same wars. Same patriot act. Same response style to major disasters. Same old shit.

Unemployment didn't go down during FDR it stayed static.

The "economic rebound" in that chart is all government spending. There is no real economic growth, just government spending growth. That's not what people electively spend their money on that grow employment opportunities.

The moment the government stops spending in those models, the economy plummets once again.

You're a total idiot, managing a 14 trillion dollar national economy is in now way like managing your piggy bank .

When an economic recession or depression hits, unemployment starts to snowball out of control, as more and more people are laid off more and more people have less money to spend causing more people to lose jobs and productivity to decline etc etc.

To stop this, the federal government steps in to the breach with a stimulus program to stop the cascade of job losses.

THIS COSTS MONEY, YES THAT IS TRUE, but you know something? It costs far less than doing nothing ever would.

Doing nothing ensures massive unemployment and corporation bankruptcies, causing both massive losses of tax revenue to the federal government, and massive unemployment and welfare liabilities to the federal government, which cost infinitely more than a stimulus ever would.

I'll give you a hint. The vast majority of US debt is not due to the Stimulus.

Economic downturn and an individual "doing bad financially" are completely different. If you want to make your statement about our debt fine, but anyone with at least half a brain knows that deficit spending (through tax cuts or government spending) is the best way to pull an economy out of a depression.

No it wouldn't, that is an a priori assumption based on faith and the idea of an efficient market that has never been proven against reality.

What doing nothing actually ensures is total economic collapse, civil and political unrest, the rise of extremism (communism, nazism/facism) and the higher unemployment goes, the longer it takes for recovery to occur. .

That is what happened after 1929. Thankfully, we have learned a bit since then.

Also, the community reinvestment act was an initiative of the Republican controlled congress, but it's true that most Democrats also voted with the Republicans on it.

The vast majority of US debt is due to two things. The Bush administrations total trashing of public finances, and the collapse in tax revenues/rising government welfare liabilities caused by the recession.

Obama in my opinion is a shitty President because he he has lacked the political willpower to stand up to BP. But forget about BP, take the health care issue: He promised a public option, instead he backed out of it and then promoted just affordable health care via the same system has screwing everyone over.

If he had the balls, he would have pushed for at least a public option or even better a single-payer plan. Instead we have a another center-right politician as a democrat.

I swear you people are bloody puritan idiots. Oabam is the most left wing president since the second world war and you are raging on him because he is not left wing enough, not pure enough.

This shit only ever occurs in stages. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Incorrect. The law will both stop certain hideous practices of the insurance industry as well as providing financial assistance for those who don't have enough income to pay for their coverage.

And yet we are all now required to pay for worthless middle managers and billing paperwork shufflers and executive salaries and retirement packages and ten thousand other kinds of shit unrelated to health care rather than creating a central fund that actual medical practitioners draw pay from for their services.

He is not left wing at all you fucking moron. I know what the left wing looks like. He is not it at all, that is a fabrication of the media.

Get this: as a result of this legislation, EVERY AMERICAN TAXPAYER IS REQUIRED TO PAY FOR INSURANCE INDUSTRY MARKETING COSTS. THAT'S RIGHT, WE HAVE TO PAY FOR ASSHOLES TO LIE TO US.

So? Before they just took it out of what you paid them. At least now they don't take payments and make costly ad campaigns with it.

The strangest thing is when people argue that healthcare reform will mean rationing of care according to price - which it won't - while ignoring that that's PRECISELY what insurers do already.

Of course they do you fuckwit. Have you seen ads befor?

Why would you ever support a health care system where people who provide health care are outnumbered by people who do nothing but bullshit paperwork and waste money all day by 50 to 1?

I assume you're talking about insurance agencies.

Agreed. But please remember that Obama tried very hard to eliminate that with the public option he initially insisted upon, but then he realized that the insurance lobby in Congress made it impossible.

Oh yeah he tried very hard by NEVER SAYING A FUCKING WORD ABOUT IT AFTER HE WAS ELECTED.
