You're
a total idiot, managing a 14 trillion dollar national economy is in now
way like managing your piggy bank .
When an economic recession
or depression hits, unemployment starts to snowball out of control, as
more and more people are laid off more and more people have less money
to spend causing more people to lose jobs and productivity to decline
etc etc.
To stop this, the federal government steps in to the
breach with a stimulus program to stop the cascade of job losses.
THIS
COSTS MONEY, YES THAT IS TRUE, but you know something? It costs far
less than doing nothing ever would.
Doing nothing ensures
massive unemployment and corporation bankruptcies, causing both massive
losses of tax revenue to the federal government, and massive
unemployment and welfare liabilities to the federal government, which
cost infinitely more than a stimulus ever would.
I'll give you a
hint. The vast majority of US debt is not due to the Stimulus. |
