That's the Himiko; a river tour boat somewhere in Japan that was designed by Leiji Matsumoto.

Looks like a potential toy boat for Pharell Williams to use to for transporting his clothes to his private island.

This runs on the tokyo waterfront taxi loop, up the river down to Tokyo BigSight. That upper glass area? The ceiling for that floor is so low it makes japanese stoop. You're practically lying on your back to not smack your head on the glass when sitting.

Goes to BigSight, huh? Figures the operator would go for an otaku-oriented route with a Matsumoto-designed boat.

I wonder how much the fare is compared to the Yurikamome?

it's pricey and takes much longer than just using the monorail (40 minutes or 20 minutes depending on the drop point). i checked it out last time i was there and passed on it.

    I think about 1500 Yen (or 2000?) for one-way Asakusa - Odaiba

Ships seem to improve but not the colour of the water in Tokyo Bay and rivers

Oh it's better than it used to be. You won't immediately break out into hives if you go into the water. Hell, theres beaches on odaiba just on the other side of the rainbow bridge, and I've seen people swimming there, though frankly they have more balls than I do.
