no. Pretty much the whole Los Angeles Basin and San Gabriel Valley
(Foothill Transit is amazing) is pretty well connected with buses.
Other parts with Metrolink (commuter rail) or Metro's light rail.
Also,
you don't need to depend solely on buses/trains. OP, remember, bike! If
you live near the Los Angeles River or some of the other channels, they
have bike paths along to make bike riding easier. Bike to and frim bus
stop. Just be careful about taking it on the trains, it's best you ride
trains before or after rush hour so you don't take up too much space.
