I don't hate cars, I just like trains more.

Even if there was mass transit that could get me to my job, it wouldn't be able to get me there at the time of day I work.

If by "car" you mean St. Louis Car R44, it's because I get a subsidized form of MetroCard known as "TransitChek" along with my regular salary. Much cheaper than driving, say, a helicopter. I wish they'd upgrade the rolling stock on the A line, though.

I drive a car and love it. I just happen to love my bike too and think trains are pretty cool.

Don't have a car, and don't like driving. Riding in a car while someone else drives = enjoyable.

Take the bus/train. Pay waythefuck less.

I take the subway.

Because the train and subway can get me to my workplace, but not to the grocery store.

Mass transit for daily commuting. Cars for errands and sudden needs. I save time, I save money, I win.

cars are space hogs. i live in a city, which is already on the point of choking to all the space they apparently require. used by a minority to boot.

cars are cool and essential where there is more than enough space, but living out there gotta be expensive.

I don't even own a car (lol urban centers, where the buses & subways run every 5 minutes and a bicycle is faster than a car due to permanent traffic jams), and haven't driven one for two years.

Public transportation where I live sucks diseased moose wang, that's why.

same situation with me, the only form of public transit are sporadic bus routes and those only run within the "city" so if you're in the suburbs it's a car or nothing at all

I don't drive. Never bothered learning. Figured anywhere a bus or bike can't get me to probably isn't worth going to.

I love those R44s, or just about any of the old subway equipment the MTA still uses. I don't like it when they break down. The new stuff isn't bad though.
