Karim Cycles: the most unfriendly place to buy stolen parts and bikes. Owned by a compulsive hoarder who opens his doors randomly throughout the week, flips his wares to dumb CAL students for exorbitant prices.

One cop scoping this place out could bust open this asshole's entire operation, but of course East Bay police have teenagers to kill so they can't be bothered with bike theft, let alone a shop stocked full of stolen parts from as far away as Sacramento. Fuck this guy. Fuck Karim Cycles. If you see a deal going down there, make sure you let the patrons know they are buying stolen shit.

Every single bike mechanic in the area knows about this place and will tell you about the whole operation. Check out the serial numbers on the frames he sells and see for yourself.

You know cops have raided him before right?

If you're out for revenge, burn his place down.

Holy shit, I've been to this place. OP does not lie one bit. You literally cannot walk more than five feet in the front door, and the guy that works there (owner?) is creepy as fuck.

    >The owner of this shop urinates on the fence and garden of the school across the street. Please don't buy his stolen bikes.
    >When he asked what my budget was and I said basically nothing, laughing jokingly. He shook his head in disgust and told me to "hop on your mountain bike, get over it and enjoy the 'ride' until someone steals it".
    >Claims to be a bike shop. They do seem to have bikes. When I asked if they sold chain lube, got a funny look and an offer of WD-40
    >he was arranging some crappy bikes outside and all of a sudden this truck comes and these two guys come out saying, "we got more bikes."

my bike's ok. i'm sure if you saw a shop packed to the brim with stolen bikes you'd be a little pissed off too. and i guess someone doesn't care this guy has actually been raided by the cops before.
    >> Velo Uber Alles 08/28/11(Sun)10:44 No.301697
Get the licence plate of said truck.

Nailing the link between the bike thieves on the street and the people fencing the property would make a huge difference, and is something the police aren't going to move on without evidence/ direct complaints.

Losing a couple thousand in bikes and parts is one thing.

Losing a couple thousand in bikes, and the truck, and possibly the places that they're storing the stolen bikes in between deliveries, is something else entirely.
    >> Anonymous 08/28/11(Sun)11:58 No.301710
unless he's knowingly buying stolen bikes or directing the theives what can the police do? Same thing with any guy who buys a bike off the classifieds. Does he have a reponsibility to make sure the bike isn't stolen?
    >> Anonymous 08/28/11(Sun)15:43 No.301778
i yelled "bike thief" today as i passed by and he was cussing me out as i rode away. good times.

as a retailer, yes, it is his responsibility to make sure he knows where his product is coming from. if he is ever caught filing down the serial numbers himself, then he would be in trouble
