07/15/10(Thu)15:32 No.197451Here's what I do. I think it's the best ratio of effort/weight to results.
I 'Sheldon Brown' the back wheel using a Kryptonite Evolution Mini:

I
used to cable lock the front wheel; now I have a Pitlock skewer for the
front wheel instead. My seatpost is secured with a Zefal anti-theft QR.
This
setup seems to be okay so far (about a year locking my $1100 road bike
daily on a theft-prone college campus), and adds next to no weight
while riding.
This is a vast improvement over my old strategy,
which was a long-shackle lock through the rear wheel and seat tube,
with a cable lock for the front wheel and a thin cable lock for the
seatpost. |
