>>178540 >>178512 It's because
public transport is a lot more widely used in Britain, especially buses. We
have single deckers too, but they are only used on the less used routes
that only require a single decker.
pic related, it's buses on
the main street in Edinburgh, and edinburgh is a relatively small city.
It's like that most days, for most of the day. Everyone uses the bus.
No matter where you are in edinburgh there will usually be a near by bus
stop that has a bus stopping at it that will take you near wherever you
want to go, and you will usually never wait more than 10 minutes for a
specific bus to show up. There are some places where you might need to
get 2 buses to get where your going. It's an extremely efficient and
popular service. There's no stigma attached to using the buses either.
They are very clean and comfortable.
In the picture is princess
street, the main street in edinburgh, it's about 3 quarter of a mile
long, and has about 5 or 6 bus stops on it. there will be several buses
at them all. Theres a lot more buses than that in the morning rush
hour and same in evening. |
