Another great r&b songstress, but I prefer her earlier work to her later work. Her work with P. Diddy was some of the best during that time.

I know that Beyonce wins a lot of R&B awards, but I don't really consider her work to be R&B. I feel it's more pop than anything else. I don't know what it is, but it sounds so far from the genre even if her singing has remnants of it.

I was a fan of R.Kelly in the beginning, but I haven't been lately. To me, his best songs will always be the ones where he wants to fuck some girl into the night. Some of his more gospel like ones I'm not too big of a fan of though.

I grew up on soul and r&b and I don't know if this has influenced my musical tastes, but, personally, I find it really hard to get into certain other artists/genres due to what I find to be very flat vocals. Some people have said that it shouldn't matter because a good singer will always be able to deliver, but sometimes the vocal delivery just seems so...dead and monotoned.

lol You're right. I never even noticed.

I think that Michael Jackson modeled his vocals after Stevie also. When I heard Stevie cover The Way You Make Me Feel it became apparent to me that Stevie was one of the few artists who can sing a MJ song and very close to the original.

There is some OK R&B from the 90s, maybe, but soul? What soul was being put out in the 90s/00s that can rival the glut of amazing singles and albums from the mid-60s and early 70s? I ask that honestly.

You Are Not Alone and Cry? I could really live w/o them. The best thing about You Are Not Alone is Michael's ad-libbing at the end. I suffer throughout the song just to hear it at the end of it.

Though, this does not mean that R.Kelly isn't a very talented song writer and producer though.

I haven't heard good things about it, but I have yet to hear it myself. I did see her new video where she got buck as naked and then shot.

It was...interesting to say the least. I did like the song though. Don't know what it had to do with the video though...
