re: unrestrained
the
heart and point of my argument is freedom. it's what attracts me to
this board and i guess what attracts you. but when you start to
introduce controls in the form of tripcodes, that's when we start to
lose freedom. as an earlier tripcode user stated, she doesn't read
anonymous because they aren't accountable. eventually, as more and more
tripcode users are born, her way of thinking is going to become the
norm. out will be anonymous, and in will be the cliques of regular
users, calling each other by their tripcode, or worse, their real
names. then they begin to talk about everything but music. this is what
happens at "regular message boards." you can join a message board about
cars, but before long it becomes like that tv show cheers where
everybody knows your name. then the fights start, etc. at least here
the disputes are at a juvenile level. when you "get to know someone"
that's when the real hatred begins. it's like living with someone,
sooner or later their flaws start to get to you.
tl;dr tripcode usage and acceptance is the first step towards the destruction of /mu/ (as we know it) |
