It's a brilliant album and I love it with every inch of my soul, I bought mine on CD in 1998 and still listen to it regularly. Definitely one of my favourites. OP I hate to sound like a condescending cunt but you don't get it yet.
    I said it. Sorry.

Leave it alone for a few months. Come back to it, you'll love it. Then your love will decline and come back months again later. Trust me, I was in the same boat as you newfags.

When I first heard it a few years back, I was kinda like pfft whatever... then a week or two later i listened again a couple times and slowly started to like it, now years later every time I listen to it, it is increasing waves of amazement. It is easy to get fed up with SOOO many people posting about it here all the time, but you know what, if you are the right type of mind, at the right time, its fucking incredible and you won't know how you went for so many years without hearing this album, and the other also. No one here really talks about "Song against Sex" its one of their best in my opinion, I love this fucking band

I don't understand why people like this kind of music. You (most likely) don't speak the language and can't understand the lyrics. The music are basic, boring, synthesized beats. The singing usually sounds very unnatural and heavily synthesized.

My friends liked it when I was in high school and I never listened to it until this year, (yes because of /mu/) now I really enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it, that's okay too but don't act like it is some secret hipster conspiracy it's just an album a lot of people here like.

Way to generalize a genre. Most kpop doesn't sound like that and all mainstream artists are required to sing Live on TV at some point(lip synching is looked down upon and they must have a sign on stage stating that they are lip synching). Even the group you were referring to sings live.
    >> Kleine !N7DVv.HogQ 12/12/09(Sat)03:26 No.6426383
It's a good album. It is. But the indie hipsters would have you believe that jesus is contained somewhere in there. Really, it's just pretty good music. Enjoy it at face value; nothing more.
    >> Anonymous 12/12/09(Sat)03:27 No.6426396
    >>6426378
If they sound like the album live then they are using heavy effects live which is just as bad as lip syncing IMO. Also see boring/repetitive. If I wanted to bore myself to death with pop I'd at least do it in a language I can understand.

it doesn't sound like the album live, it sounds like singing. Again, generalizing a genre you know nothing about. Kpop covers most korean music, whether it's mainstream or not. that includes Pop, rock, hip hop, ballad, jazz, r&b, trot. all of those genres are thrown into the "Kpop" genre.

I know shitloads of people who worship that somewhat decent album as they do here on /mu/. They're mostly females, or fey hipster boys who want to at least appear sensitive and deep. If I did know someone who had heard the album and hated it, I would definitely befriend them for life.

Fine, show me a video that is k-pop and not in 4/4 time with a simple repetitive style to it. Obviously an entire genre can't be full of exactly the same thing, so post something that someone who doesn't like American pop would like.

I had a feeling someone would say this, perhaps we should just call the entity that created this Jeff Mangum? well yeah he was the creative force, but I never refer to radiohead as a "he" Bob dylan had his name on the front of the albums, just his, I know its silly, I realize that, but its just a naming convention, I wouldn't pretend for 1 second that its not all Jeff Mangum...

also im drunk, so if you insist I will start calling NMH a him
