Indiefag here, basically everything, prefer lo-fi indie rock such as sebadoh, old modest mouse, pixies and land of talk, or folk. getting into pop punk like screeching weasels and the ergs, and old emo and post punk such as sunny day real estate, american football, ect.

And I have Pol-Pot's, and I do agree, it was the first album of theirs I've listened to, and it is absolutely fantastic. The sad thing is, there isn't really any other bands that have music like that. :/

I like alternative rock / indie rock, carll it what you like. Pavement, Pixies, Ride, Band of Susans, Shipping News, Slint, and some more locals bands from Australia and Finland. Favourite band right now Sonic Youth. Would like to get something similar to Sonic Youth, some alternative rock with a lot of noise and effects, but more like sonic youth or other post-punk bands than lightning bolt or other "noise" bands.

My favorite genre is probably early 90s grunge/rock, as weird as that sounds to say it. Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, etc.. I'm also a big fan of whatever genre the White Stripes, Raconteurs, Cage the Elephant, and similar bands find themselves in.

I'd also like to get into more quirky music. I like Modest Mouse a lot, and would like something similar that is kinda out of left-field while remaining simple and not too jarring.

I love punk and all of it's sub genres, especially Folk Punk. My favorite bands are: The World/Inferno Friendship Society, Mischief Brew, Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains, Gogol Bordello, Leftover Crack, Star Fucking Hipsters, Chocking Victim, The Clash, and Reel Big Fish.

I also really enjoy Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Regina Spektor, and Cake.

But I recently fell in love with I Monster, and I need some suggestions for some big band Jazz and some Trip-Hop stuff.

    Any recommendations would be awesome.

You might want to also check out some of the older bluegrass/country people like Roy Acuff, (earlier) Louvin Brothers, comedians like David "Stringbean" Akemen, Grandpa Jones and people who helped create the genre in it's earliest days like Dock Boggs and Roscoe Holcomb. To be honest bluegrass is something I also want to look into more myself but I just never have.
