i have pcs and macs. i'm a tech geek and love building and tweaking pcs. macs are beautiful machines though. like the imac.. it's fast but almost completely silent, and that 27" 2550x1440 display is superb. and the design -- it simply looks good in any environment.

also osx lion is a very good operating system. windows 7 is good too, but lion is more streamlined. and i love it that there's only one version of the operating system, and it only costs something like 24€. MS could defenitely learn from that with their 48392849 different editions of windows that all cost shitload of money.

I own a Windows desktop and a macbook and I've found that I'm far more productive on my macbook. I'm a developer and I write in Objective-C, C, C++, and C# all on the macbook. Never have issues. Where as on Windows with VS I get crashes constantly.

just to clear up specs confusion, macs and pcs are built differently. macs are better for running graphics and stuff like music editing, picture editing and stuff like that, and pcs are better for technical stuff like programing, etc. also macs dont run as many things in the background which naturally makes a computer faster. i have both and use both regularly so i dont think i can be lumped into either maccandy-ass or pccandy-ass

Macs aren't 'better' for running graphics and editing software AT ALL, they just come with programs like that pre-installed.
Macs suck ass all around, you can get the same programs like Pro Tools etc. for Windows PCs, but your WIndows PC will have much better specs for a cheaper price, and will run the programs way better.

the reason they're so popular is because of the extreme lack of choice - if given no control of the machine, there's no possible way the user can fuck it up.

think of a PC as a motorcycle and a mac as a tricycle. the motorcycle is fast, you can customize it, and it will run forever if you know how to take care of it, but one mistake and BANG. The mac is impossible to fall off of. Anyone can ride the mac. It's safe and slow. Once it breaks, you're fucked, go buy a new one.

Me too, but I like performance over looks. Plus using the computer for multiple things like programming, gaming, design, virtual machine, hacking, skype, browsing the net, and other tasks I like doing. I hate being limited on what I can do. I can run Mac OS X within Windows 7 right now with any lag. Seriously, it's nothing special. Plus PC has some nice looks if you know what you're doing.

i've been a mac all my life, not by choice. i was wisened up to how computers actually work about 2 years ago, but that was after my grandma got me a macbook for hs graduation. now i have no hope of getting a real computer, because i don't actually own any money (paying off my parents that are paying for my college), and my parents think macs are the best.

i use a mouse for gaming (on windows mostly, you have me there.) but for browsing and basic tasks i don't Need a mouse. thats the thing. pc trackpads are so annoying to use that you'd rather use a mouse all the time, apple trackpads are fluid and enjoyable to use.
