If it's Equestria Girls, I don't care either way, if it's FiM, the "worst" case scenario is that it's pushed as a toy-insert in an episode, and compared to weird shit like Glitter Wings and Friendship Express, this will be an easy inclusion that not only is fitting for the character, but also allows for a very wide range of possible episode ideas.

Oh, yeah, I guess an added bonus is that RD in rocker's outfit is #3 or so on my clothing wish-list, after RD in a maid-costume and RD in bridle/saddle/harness.

In S2 they introduced the idea that they all can send letters to Celestia, so character growth and overall bigger focus on all six characters and not just Twilight. S3 made it obvious that Twilight was still Celestia's main 'student' working towards whatever goals she's been wanting since becoming her protege or whatever. The others were likely going off of the friendship-report business to better themselves and their goals as well.

Otherwise yes, we've all established MMC brought Twilight to said goal way too quickly and lamely.

They could be DTV movies, season 4 may be the last season. Once the show ends, the series will most likely move onto DTV movies, just like every other generation of MLP has. After a few years of movies, generation 4.5 or 5 will begin.
