Finally a decent one. Those other ones weren't even worth my time. I like the symbolism and comparing her mining ability to empathy. Hey man. I don't think they're bad games. Mortal Kombat had a damn impressive story mode for a fighting game. Revolutionary might be a strong word, but I hope it inspires other fighting games' story modes. Great side fun, too. It's just that the fighting itself lacked depth. It's not a bad game because of that, it just tries to chase after a different market and it succeeds very well at that.
Soul Calibur has always been one of my favourite fighting game series, and the newest iteration looks great and plays well. The character customization is top-knotch, and I haven't seen much of the story mode but I'm sure it's decent if the previous games are any indication. I just don't like 3D fighting games, is all.

It also doesn't help your case that those are pretty much THE two games of this generation that appeal most to casual players, which is what I'm sure you are. Nothing wrong with being a casual player, especially when it comes to fighting games.

How else do you explain how my six year old daughter can make a more detailed drawing than I can when I've gone through 2 art classes and frequently draw in my free time?
I know practicing is ultimately what leads to success, and I am getting better, but some people are just better at it than others.

That's because some people are better at observing. True, some people learn at a different pace, but in your daughter's case, she's a great observer. If you can look at something and say, well it looks different here and here, I can change it to look more like the actual object, then you have great ability to become a good artist. Most of drawing art is utilizing shapes and drawing from memory, however, so the more you observe what's around and use that ability to find differences, the better at drawing you can become. Practicing also helps. Taking classes are case by case. If you have a shitty teacher, then you won't learn anything. If your daughter saw a car at first glance and tried to replicate it, I would say she would only be able to show you it's a car, but not actually have it look like the real thing. Then again, she is very young, but It's also nice to see that she draws too and if she chooses that when she's older I hope you support her.

History: Topaz grew up in Canterlot, in one of the only Earth Pony families there. He had always loved old stuff; rusty, broken, dusty, anything that wasn't shiny was his. He started collecting things around town, studying them, trying to figure out where they came from or what their purpose was. His family saw it as a hobby, but he knew better. Determined, Topaz knew his cutie mark and his future lied in his love for the old and decrepit. Determined, he ventured out of Canterlot for the first time in his life with a pack of food and some water to explore the nearby ruins just outside, embedded in the mountainside. Nopony knew who exactly had lived there or where they went, and that was good enough reason for Topaz to go check it out. While he was there he discovered a small lock box under a few fallen rocks. To this day, he has that same scroll framed in whatever place of residence he happens to be at the time, and he never stays in one town too long, heading from digsite to digsite.
