Hello, everyone. I was very excited about this project, and about releasing it. I fell in love with this show. I wanted to end up giving you all 5 episodes a week, however, I am extremely busy and I feel as if I can't actually do that. It pains me so much, because I wanted to give these to you guys on a set schedule. We have so many other things that, while being worked on, are being held back not only by other people's schedules, but my own. I guess what I have to say is, while I can't give you 5 per week, please take all 50 at once. Oh, and the movie in Blu-Ray, encoded with 10-bit (if you're computer can't take that, then no worries, there should be an AVI coming this week)

It's not even another language used correctly. Anytime Sanskrit shows up in Japanese, it gets fucked over. It's still not hard to go, "Hey, this is Sanskrit," go look up what it's probably going for, and then write that out so it looks right.

If memory serves, I think if you tried to translate the monster quote in question, you'd end up with "EVIL PURSE" or along those lines. The phrase is just clearly meant as a "magic words" hocus pocus type thing, tho.

The 90s are probably my favorite decade of Sentai. There's really only two shows out of that decade that I could say were bad, and that's Fiveman and Ohranger. Zyuranger is debatable though, but still.

This was a decade where they were at the threat of Sentai possibly getting cancelled each year up until Megaranger. It's why I like this decade because it's so freakin eclectic and other than Fiveman, you got a lot of fresh stuntmen and production crew wanting to do things different and try to go out with a bang in the case of facing cancellation.

Never before and never again in Sentai will you see a gnome shoot golfballs at a giant pig head before forcing the rangers to eat a table full of magic food so they can get the magic herb that acts like a magic ipecac and makes the pig head throw up.

This isn't even one of Zyuranger's weirder episodes, either.

Yeah, the Hurri HKs are really only insufficient for some of the jokes. No harm in watching it that way while we wait for Harorangers to finish. (It'll probably be awhile, some of the comedy episodes would be brutal for any subber not interested in releasing TVN bullshit.)

"Scrubbing" is a pretty new term in the business.

It refers to taking subtitles from what is deemed a questionable or otherwise odd source (like TV-N) and then rewriting, normalizing and possibly checking the translation. If it concerns TV-N, usually the product is then released as a softsub, typically with a better raw or just a better encode.

Y'know, I thought that too. I think it's the dubbing though. You can tell that their mouth movements are PERFECT, yet the audio does go through scene to scene.

But I never really noticed that the mouth movements were off though, which is why I just assumed it's the way they just used to add in stuff.

Like, with encoding, everything would have to be off to shift it, and there's never a silent part where you could go "OH LOOK THIS GOT SHIFTED SEE SEE SEE". So I think Toei just went "Let's just let this audio go into this next scene", but it's a bitch for subbing because you don't know if the line should stay in the previous one, or go into the next one.

It got an official sub/dub on Kotaku. They dubbed over the narrator (who was terrible) and subbed the Kachou (That's what they left it as). I'm not a dub hater but I wasn't a big fan of that approach, especially when they literally subbed over the old narrator. In a bunch of scenes you could hear the Japanese narrator talking.

I'm lad that TV-N did those episodes but what pisses me off is that they cut parts out of the first season. There were interviews with game makers and such that they cut out because they didn't know who they were or they didn't care.

One of the episode has an interview with the man who created GameCenter Arashi, the first video game manga/anime (whoever posted that episode 1 raw in a thread here once, I love you). It's also where GCX got it's name from. But nope they cut it out because it was boring. That is one thing I cannot forgive.

Gust went out of town to visit family for a month, he was able to encode over there but wasn't able to bring his harddrive or any files, which left us without any source for HD Den-O or ISOs for Abaranger

Gust came back, but then our timer went on vacation to Akibahara, for a month.

So basically we're shit out of luck for Aba for 2 months, most other timers were busy with their own projects.

As a backup we were planning to do v2s for 9 and 10 (which for unrelated reasons we had dvd raw and timed script for), but mag flat out was against doing 9 since it's essentially part 2 of a two parter he hasn't seen so he wouldn't know the context of lines and stuff. 10 was gonna be done but then the Gokaiger ghost ship movie took mag away, but he's gonna do itsoonish.

Then in march, I plan to work gust and mak to death to make up for lost time :33

See, the translator who did Dai is the same one who is doing those, and he's been busy with school, but Dai was his baby and he actually finished it a while ago. He started doing Dai before he started Kaku and GoGo. So he ended up focusing on doing that, and so did I. Going to try and do more Kaku and GoGo though. Make sure we get SOMETHING out now that Dai is done.

It's pretty fucking awesome. It's the first pre-2000 Toku series I've actually sat down and watched, but I gotta say I really love how it showcases martial arts and actual special effects over CG effects and attacks. I never really liked how a lot of Gokai-Oh's fights and attacks were mostly CGI.

Not doing Car because I know Drazic, and I know that at first, I was slowing the v2s down, but now they have a new TL who is doing the TL and editing all by himself (because he is seriously that good) and he's quite busy. Such is life though. Dairanger was one of the last Super Sentai to feature actors recruited from Sonny Chiba's Japan Action Club, i.e. people who could actually do martial arts. Super Sentai is a gateway program of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive teamwork faggotry and ROBOTS. The normal /m/an can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.

However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the combination attacks, peculiar, colorful suits, the whole henshin faggotry and everything about the Sentai world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on justice, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the fuck up.

Super Sentai is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Sentai threads, or indeed any form of tokusatsu,, ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.
