There're two kinds of fukubukuro, the fake kind where they tell you what's inside and are really just selling you a set of items at a light discount (like maybe 10% off), and the real kind where everything's random.

With the real kind, the contents are typically worth 2-5 times what you pay. Some are actually guaranteed to have good stuff in them (Azone's, which are really popular, for example). But yeah, there's a lot of rubbish in them. But even if you get rubbish ("utsubukuro", with "depressing" replacing the "fortune" in fukubukuro) the tradition is to upload photos and laugh about it with everyone else.

Because the kit has no appeal whatsoever. Not counting the promotional materials (anime,manga), the kits itself are simply lackluster. Just compare the AGE-1 to more recent main Gundam, the Strike, Exia and you'll see cheap RX-78's rip-off like AGE-1 has so little value to offer, unless they release AGE-1 with all 3 forms in one package at the price of normal HG( or slightly more ) i don't think i ever want to touch a AGE's model

At this point, I'd almost wish it were bad, if only so it would distinguish itself a bit more.

AGE's biggest problem is the fact that it's played everything so safely and played so many cliches straight and unironically that it has very little voice of its own right now.

It's so archetypical it's hurting itself. I hope the time skip can shake things up some at least, but at this point, I'm not pinning too many hopes on it given how textbook a lot of the directing's been.
Which is a shame, because it feels like this idea really could have been better than it is right now.

Kickass grunt designs that aren't just Zaku-expy No. 254 (Besides the Zalam/Euba suits, they're supposed to look old) or Gundam with a different head and less details.

A pretty cool group of side characters (Beardcaptain, Woolf, Don Boyage), plus an enemy we know very little about so we watch to know what it is.

A neat gimmick for the Gundam that I hope is never used again,It's cool but just change the parts in a hangar instead of launching them from a platform in space

It's been consistently good. Not amazing, but it's done a good job with its characters. Grodek's pretty awesome, I loved how they handled the Fardain conflict (felt a lot like a mob war), the tech everyone's using is very basic and it fits the feel of everything.

The UE also have another thing going for them on top of just being mysterious. They're really competent and I like some of the things they pull. Like when the Zedas intentionally tricked a Euba and a Zalam grunt into shooting each other to stir up animosity since their alliance was so fragile.

The Adams guy is also turning out to be really fun to watch. He was upset when he found out that Grodek pretty much stole the Diva, but he's not being portrayed as a dick about it. In fact it's the opposite; the guy still has faith in the Federation, which Grodek doesn't.

The fights haven't been amazingly animated, but I love the choreography they have in them anyways.

A flop is a flop, regardless of market. Models aren't selling. If you can't capture a market, this production is as good as dead.

Personally disappointed in the Master Grades.

The HGs are cheap enough to warrant buying each version of the AGE Gundam...but paying 3800-4800 yen per version of the AGE Gundam? Fuck that.

Though, it is asking a little too much to include the main body, then the extra set of arms, legs and effects for each gundam.
