These had some interesting stories. It also inspired me to do a bit of poetry and submit it for the third/fourth issue.

Do I have to leave any notes explaining significance or do I just leave the poetry word for word at that email?

    as posted on last thread:
    God tier
    The Gift
    Alecto
    The Long Goodnight
Stormtrooper assault (if you're a 40k fan, otherwise it belongs in good tier)

    Good tier
    Ant on a Hill
    Memories of Ukraine
    Working the Steets.. etc
    Blam!!
    Lord Creature
    The Pencil
    The Darkest of Fiends
    A Cool Story

    Mid tier
    Part 6
    Dream
    St. George
    Litchfield
    Buster Story
    Part 6

Mostly agree with this except for Long Goodnight being just Phantom Tollbooth lite, kinda lulzy but by no means that good. Ant on a Hill kinda meh too.

Agreed, you guys need some decent critics or none at all. There was some decent discussion of Alecto in the last thread if that's still about, and "T.B."'s review of Second Sunset was actually pretty cool daddio.

...so, wait, 200 pages and the only stories that have been seriously picked apart by anyone intelligent are by the same guy?

In all honesty, just create the forum. Anyone here who's been on /lit/ more than two or three hours know of the ZWG. Trying to keep up new info through threads is a dumb idea, new info will come disjointed to people as well.

Also, forums make it easier for each writer to maybe even get their own little thread so they can answer fan questions.

They already have a system for giving writers comments and feedback - emails and wiki talk pages. Nobody is using it. What makes you think some shitstain of a BB will be any better?

Someone asked where the picture is from. It's by a photographer named Brandon Christopher Warren. It's under a Creative Commons license, so it's not "theft." I mentioned in my email to the editors, though, that it needed to be attributed. No one followed up actually asking for the attribution information. Hopefully the edits can mention Warren's name somewhere in the next issue.

Love the zine, but I do have two concerns:

    1) The editing is still pretty shitty. Plenty of typos, grammatical errors, formating fuck-ups, etc.

    >>503887

Like I said, get some better editing. Also:

    1) Hotlink the ToC. I like how the page numbers actually match up to the pdf but it would be tons easier to click the title and be taken straight to it.
    2) Stop the genre categorizing. I know the change is in-process, but for god's sake please just have it by 'fiction', 'creative non-fiction', and 'poetry'. Maybe even add a 'review/article' section if that continues.
    3) The formatting seems kind of - bland. It's like you guys are sure whether to have it digital or print and decide on a bi-polar mix of the two. Also, Venus has an annoying as fuck half-box line on it. There's too much white space and it could use a more interesting (but not spastic) font.

That's what I could think of off the top of my head.

Yea, I don't have the cure-all for that. The only thing I can think of is if you limit it down to the 3-4 best pieces but then the prose would overshadow it in size. Maybe /lit/ just isn't too much into poetry - I think this is more of a bitch on my part than a legitimate complaint.
