Wait, so you explicitly said that you would split larger submissions up over several issues, put in an incomplete story with "To be continued..." at the end, but didn't think to clarify that was the author's "TBC whenever" and not the zine editors saying "tune in next bat-issue"?

He submitted a story that was unfortunately placed directly after one of the best stories in the zine. It suffered greatly under comparison (forced dialogue, wooden prose, etc) and /lit/ went batshit about it. TSATF made a thread later asking for ways to improve his writing and a lot of people told him more or less to quit. Some people tried giving good advice, but most of them just complained to his "face" about what they didn't like.

I just hope he took it well. The story had promise, the execution was just iffy.

Thanks for employing an illiterate reviewer. It seems you've went for someone who is willing to sugar-coat every banal criticism he can muster up rather than someone who is going to offer genuinely insightful (and, you know, interesting) critiques.

Does this, guy knows how to, use commas, or what? I don't understand, why every other sentence, has to contain a, comma splice.

He is apparently unfamiliar with the concept of possessive pronouns (Seriously? You still don't know the difference between 'its' and 'it's'?) and the comparison between Josef K. and three literary greats: Lovecraft, Camus, and Shute. I suspect he only included the latter two on the basis that both 'On the Beach' and 'L'Étranger' had beaches in them.

I wish his writing were at least interesting enough to pick apart in detail but, sadly, it's not.

Better to restrict oneself to a single paragraph:

"A sparse, descriptive narrative takes us through the sun-scorching of the valley’s
crops- an important precursor to the harvest, the social and geographical history of the valley,
and the people’s connection with it."

Apparently it was a "sparse" but also a "descriptive" narrative, which I suppose is possible. It's also a "detailed" narrative though.

It would also be fascinating to know in what sense the narrative is a precursor to the social and geographical history of the valley.

I wrote Buster Story. That actually isn't the title. It didn't really have a title at all but that was the filename for the document I sent in. Did anyone enjoy it? I felt it was too wordy at parts and not wordy enough where it needed the meat. The original was very poorly proofread so major props to the editors for cleaning up my half assery.

Indifference Engine, I envy your narration, it really amused me and kept me turning pages, in a typical "I FUCKING LOVE THIS," fashion.

Only note, the abrupt end caught me off guard as I felt another strain of whimsical word play on the self meeting the self.

Nonetheless, thank you for the entertaining read. Could you link me to more of your work perchance, were you in a previous issue? Or justfuckingpublishstuff. :D
