How avid of a reader are you?

I generally read a book or two a month, although I have ramped up my reading to around a book a week for the past few months.

I dream of becoming a bookworm like Yomiko and living in a whole apartment building filled with books ;_;.

I read about a book or maybe two in a month. I'll keep the 2 books a month stream steady if I'm really into a theme of some sort.

A lot of people like to "brag" about how fast/much they read, but I think it's better to read a few well savored books, than become a human database.

    Who?

Actually, on second thought, I don't wanna fucking know. Stop dropping references to things nobody else cares about. I don't know what it is you're attempting to prove by writing shit like this, but nobody is impressed by it.

Think about it from someone else's perspective. Imagine I had said something like this: 'Yeah totally, I want to read as much as Batman does. I also want to work out more so I can be a hardcore detective.' Sound ludicrous? You fucking bet it does. If you want to live up to someone else's standards, choose a REAL WORLD COUNTERPART, not a character from a fucking comic book. For example, I once happened upon a used book stall at a flea market run by an old man who boasted reading at least two books a week. Now that's fucking impressive, far more impressive than saying, 'HAI GUISE REED RICHARDS SHORE IZ SMART I WANNA BE SMART 2 SO IMMA READ MOAR LOL READ RICHARDS'.

I'm not OP and am yet to post in this thread.

However, I went to Japan in November (with my ex-girlfriend), and I'm going to Osaka in July for another holiday to see if I still like the place. That's because I'm going to study over there for a year next year on exchange if I like the place still.

However; I DO NOT like anime/manga; I'm not really that into Japanese girls (actually prefer Chinese/Koreans these days); I'm not into the whole 'tech' thing etc. etc.

I'm just going there for the experience, and because I've had great hospitality received from the Japanese in the past, not to mention the amount of lovely Japanese I've met (and work with) in my country.

My question is, does this make me a 'weeaboo'?

Yeah, it's just that when I was in Japan, the people were so kind to me, something that I have received in a very long time.

Of course, I was staying in Ginza, so I was able to go around to all the districts in Tokyo and there were many beautiful women around me (in my eyes). However, that was the last thing on my mind, which in fact suprised me. I was more interested to speak to some elderly people than try to chat up some girls who probably spoke better English.

I've been keeping a list since 2005. Sometimes I look at it and get disturbed at the number of times I've reread Howl's Moving Castle in just a few short years.

I used to clear through a book a week on average. Not sure why, but I lost any drive to read near the end of high school, trying to get back into reading slowly right now. Maybe two months for a 300-page book at my current rate. That's going up to weeks without opening it, though.

I read in my school's library during my lunch period, it's part of my "don't eat so fucking much diet", so I get a 2.5 hours a week dedicated to reading. When I carry a Terry Pratchett book arounds, I read 3.5 books a month, although it crawled severely when I was reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. (Wonderful book)
    >> Anonymous 03/05/10(Fri)18:22 No.384873
I read about a book a day, though I only read plays and count them as books, so in terms of actual pages it's like <200 a day.
    Not proud...
    >> Anonymous 03/05/10(Fri)22:44 No.386032
So, how avid of a reader are you?
    >> Anonymous 03/05/10(Fri)22:45 No.386038
Don't read as much. Haven't read a book in about 2 months, but I do read some books on and off, so at least I'm not intellectually deteriorating.
    >> Anonymous 03/05/10(Fri)22:46 No.386045

    >> Anonymous 03/05/10(Fri)22:50 No.386055
When I have more then 3-4 hours free at the end of a day I'll spend it reading.

Read a manga series or one or two novels over the weekend. I've been reading a lot more now that I've started buying used hardcovers over the internet.
    >> Anonymous 03/05/10(Fri)22:58 No.386079
    8+ books a month.
