    What is the most effective way to detect plagiarism? I tutor a handful of 6th graders and grade their English papers. It would be nice be able to check their papers without entering phrases into the google search.

    The best way (that doesn't involve exhaustive online research) is to get some writing samples done in-class on a time limit. I'm thinking of the impromptu essay question practice for the AP exams, but obviously it would be much shorter and lower difficulty for 6th graders.

    Doing this a couple times will get you a baseline of each student's real writing style and capability.

    When you sign up as a teacher it should give you a ClassID and Password (you might set these yourself but I'm not sure) that each of your students must then input when creating their account.
    After that it's smooth as buttah.
