  • Since I've been on a Q&A kick in /a/ and /r9k/ recently, I've decided to set up a formspring account for publicly answering 4chan related questions. You'll find it linked in the navbar as "?", and located here: formspring.me/4chan. Also, if you use Twitter, please follow @4chan. As always, I can be contacted via e-mail at moot@4chan.org (Despite the common misconception, I check it frequently and read every message I receive. Nobody seems to e-mail me about anything other than being banned though ;_;)
EDIT: Site went down due to a hardware issue. Should be fixed now.

    On a quick note:

The first issue will be around 100 pages, the following ones are going to be smaller (around 50 pages).

We dropped category covers and now the works are going to be sorted by tags.

All submitted covers are going to make it to the wiki.

    Submit email is
    zinewritersguild@gmail.com

    wiki is
    zinewritersguild.wikia.com

This is the official cover now.

The first issue is going to be released earlier than expected.

In all countries that are members of the Berne Convention copyright is automatic, and need not be obtained through official registration with any government office. Once an idea has been reduced to tangible form, for example by securing it in a fixed medium (such as a drawing, sheet music, photograph, a videotape, or a computer file), the copyright holder is entitled to enforce his or her exclusive rights. However, while registration isn't needed to exercise copyright, in jurisdictions where the laws provide for registration, it serves as prima facie evidence of a valid copyright. The original copyright owner of the copyright may be the employer of the author rather than the author himself, if the work is a "work for hire".

Mail a few copies of it to yourself, and keep the sealed envelopes. If you ever find someone stealing something, take them to court. When you come before the judge, show him the postmark and have him open one of the sealed envelopes to see the contents. This is irrefutable evidence that you created it, and will show the exact date that it was created.

Ah, okay. My original contributions that ZWG Editor liked were for category covers, so I assumed that was on. And that was what I emailed you about.

I'm happy to do table fo contents or proper release covers as well, of course. I was just confused. Regardless, I've emailed you lot already, and am happy to offer whatever graphic art you'd like.

really? I don't handle e-mails, so I wouldn't know. If you want, you can send me another one at ftwlit@gmail.com. We really need a table-of-contents guy, and Goldensox is reputably sick with some sort of illness

Oh, hey, I'm fairly early on in the Zine.

I thought i might have submitted late.

Can't comment on Goldensox, but whomever posts as ZWG Editor, as well as the other editors in this thread, have presumably seen my work in the other thread for category art, and wanted more. But apparently category art is just for the wiki and not the real release? If that's the case, I'd be more interested in doing cover art, as I don't think people will flock to the wiki to see random art aimed at the categories...

nah, you were one of our earlier submissions. Note however that this is not organized by date recieved.

    >>350058
yeah, there's really no point in doing wiki art. You'd be much better put to work doing covers and other things that really need getting done. If we had two graphic artists, we could probably get some of the cooler submissions with an illustration, or something. Whatever the case, it sounds good to me

That sounds fine to me, as well. As I mentioned in my e-mail, basing artwork around the lead submission, the first selected story, would be great. So I'd be happy to do that if category art is now dead (within the last 14 hours apparently? :P). I've emailed the OP email with my previous category art, and would be happy to do more. Let me know.

okay. We use a collective e-mail, so I might be able to respond and look at it. One sec

Now time to wait for negative feedback.

actually, we've sent that out those to one of our newer editors, Chantrelle. We haven't heard from him in a while, so I might end up looking it over myself...

Also, Get in anything that was so bad you had to turn the sender down?

    >>350090
uh... we got one that was pretttyy bad. But, we're not turning anything down. Additionally, we got another that I initially thought was plagerism, but apparently the author had simply been revamping a public domain work. So it was all okay.

I'm kinda iffy about my "Untitled" one i submitted because i showed it to a friend of mine and he told me Bukowski had written something similar. ((Using a dog as an allegory for a woman, etc.))

nah, both of them are pretty good really. "untitled" is certainly the weaker of the two, but that's really because theres not that much happening in-story IMO.

Thank you for that, most of people I've shown them to like the untitled one better, which i don't understand. ((Some thought i was actually talking about a dog, which kind of confuses me)). I might start sending my three part story in about my trip to San Francisco with a friend, It's written in the style of Hunter Thompson.
