What does /lit/ smoke while reading and a writing?

For me pic related or camel turkish royals or I roll up a nice bali shag cigarette. American Spirit periques are great if only because they last like ten minutes. If I can afford a cigar, romeo and juliet while I read romeo and juliet

Since I quit smoking cigarettes and moved away from my house with a wood stove, I read a lot less.

That picture fails on the basic premise that all of the actions that smoking weed is being compared to harm another person and deny them their rights. Smoking does not, in any way, shape, or form. You'd be better off comparing it to eating fast food. Which is a similarly personally harmful act that's just fine done in moderation.

Additionally, something being against the law does not make it wrong. All it says is that the people who currently control the state view it as wrong. Law has nothing to do with right or wrong. Good acts have been illegalized before (it's been illegal in many societies to prevent a man from beating his wife) and evil acts have been granted state approval many times before (Hitler and Stalin both legally performed many horrible actions with popular consent of their particular societies). So fuck you, fuck the law, fuck the state, and most of all fuck everything you stand for, you morally bankrupt lemming.

Smoking is a way to settle the anxiety that arises from the conscious person's suspicion that they lack free-well. It is an illogical, irrational act that stands against sensibility and is an adolescent (culture/mentality, not intelligence/age) means of asserting one's own significance: replaced, recently, by a rise in self-harm by cutting.

Smoking.
Pros: Makes you feel good. Some might say makes you "look cool".
Cons: Cancer. It's expensive. It gives you bad breath. No matter what you guys say, it's still a drug and it'll get you hooked.

So now tell me, how come you don't realize smoking is just the same as buying expensive clothes or jewelry? Most of you wouldn't replace smoking by, let's say, taking nicotine patches or gum. Why? Because smoking has this "rebellious" component to it. You see people smoking in T.V., magazines, and you get mesmerized by the smoke coming from their mouths, this can't be bad for me, look at all these people, they can't be wrong.
While it might give you a sense of momentary satisfaction, it's bad for you on the long term. AND IT'S BAD FOR ME AS WELL because once you get fucking cancer someone is going to have to take care of you until you die. And that costs money.

>Never got a nicotine buzz?

Yep, for the first few times I smoked. You get habituated pretty quickly htough. And in terms of buzzing, it's on a level with holding your breath for a long time - it's hardly party hearty.

>Never enjoyed the flavor of a cigar?

Yup, but I think anyone who smokes a cigar before they're fifty looks like a complete dickhead. It looks like you're sucking a turd.

>Should have tried Pipe or Cigar

See above. I occasionally use snuff now to give me the mild nicotine high, It's a cleaner nicotine feeling and it's less aggro on the lungs.

>filters are fiberglass.

Absolute nonsense. Urban myth. PROTIP: They don't have asbestos in them either

>Also learn some self-control. I can go weeks or months without having a cigar.

Yup - that's what I said when I started smoking. That's actually what most people say, believe it or not. Very few people in my experience look at tobacco andthink "Hey, I think I'll get addicted to this stuff and spend the rest of my life paying out the arse to Philip Morris.

>And I really can't take you seriously if you think weed is better.

Fair enough - I can't seriously accept the opinion of anyone who thinks that smoking the products of government sponsorship, organised addiction and chemical fertilisation is a good idea. Each to their own.

So, even after this bullshit thread, I'm the only person who uses snus? ;_;

Anyone who wants nicotine when in class or at work should go to the Northerner site and buy a few tins. Start with General Onyx, maybe Romeo y Julieta. Skruf stark is also good. If you like portions consider buying an Icetool and a few tins of loose for when your at home.

You basically just grab a portion and stick it in your top lip between your lip and gum and let it do it's thing. The way it is made cuts out a lot of cancer causing stuffs. The last cancer risk I saw attributed to snus was only pancreatic and it is far lower than smoking. No mouth cancer like with American dip either.

>Most of you wouldn't replace smoking by, let's say, taking nicotine patches or gum. Why?
Because smoking involves fire. It's primal and Promethean, and smoke has this beautiful rhythm to it, this taking in and releasing, that other forms of nicotine delivery don't have. Smoke gives empty air space, it gives it substance, it lingers and moves about.

Smoking is beautiful in a way that only a writer can find beauty in an ugly thing. I'd expect /lit/ to understand that better than any other board on 4chan.
