    So, /lit/, hypothetical question.

Let's say you daughter has just learned to read, and has asked you to pick out her first book.

    What do?

If I was reading it to her either My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell or Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland.

If not probably my copy of Usborne Book of Legends.

Imagine if you had a daughter and she grew up to be a pornstar and one day you were fapping on the internet to some hardcore DP stuff and the camera pans out and you realise that you've been wanking while watching your precious little girl getting fucked off two big ol' African American Gentlemen.

That sort of stuff would keep me awake at night. One thing I've realised is that all women are pretty dirty if you approach them the right way, so think of that, then imagine having a daughter. You know she'd be taking it anally if someone asked her nicely enough and bought a few bacardi breezers.

I don't have a daughter, so it's okay. I think those jokes are a lot less funny once you have a real daughter.

Discworld, hands down. Either start off with Maurice or Wee Free Men, one of them.

I'd buy her a copy of Lolita and we'd take a road trip together.

Don't listen to these guys. Clifford the Big Red Dog is the superior canine for your child to indulge in.
    >> Anonymous 09/02/11(Fri)17:42 No.2052908
    >>2052899
I think your ideas of Clifford being superior most likely come from your desire since childhood to get knotted by a giant red dog. Spot is obviously superior.

Just kidding. I just didn't care for the books, and I only ever watched cartoons as a kid.

Maybe I'd read The Giver with her, or A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Just leaned? The very hungry caterpillar of course.
Pretty sure I didn't have that growing up and I feel really deprived..
I can't really remember what I read before I was 8, but I think books by Enid blyton were what got me into reading,
Then Harry potter just for what it meant to my own childhood.
Then she can read whatever the hell she likes.
I believe Lolita is what got me into serious lit when I was 14. I developed this weird consuming obsession with it. Dressing like lol and everything.. ugh.
Bit awkward giving that to your daughter though :c
