    Hey /lit/.

    What is justice?

Have you ever seen it first hand?
    >> Anonymous 08/10/11(Wed)14:19 No.2001400
Yeah, I have a bunch of justice in my garage right now.

Justice cannot be done by human hands.

Justice is whatever goes in accordance to your own personal beliefs (or the prescribed beliefs of a community) on right and wrong, punishment and reward.

Has anyone you've ever known ever believed they witnessed justice firsthand?

Even by your definition, do you believe such a witnessing is theoretically possible?
    >> Anonymous 08/10/11(Wed)14:24 No.2001414
    Justice just is.

As kingfishers catch fire, dragonflies draw flame; as tumbled over rim in roundy wells stones ring; like each tucked string tells, each hung bell’s bow swung finds tongue to fling out broad its name. Each mortal thing does one thing and the same: deals out that being indoors each one dwells; selves—goes itself; myself it speaks and spells, crying "What I do is me: for that I came."

I say more: the just man justices; keeps grace: that keeps all his goings graces; acts in God’s eye what in God’s eye he is— Christ—for Christ plays in ten thousand places, lovely in limbs, and lovely in eyes not his to the Father through the features of men’s faces.

its not that extreme. I knew a good athlete who went on to become a doctor, but he was a really cool dude. Everyone liked him. I also knew hateful nerds who were bullies in high school who ended up becoming middle class engineers, who are still miserable and self-loathing.

I dunno, from my perspective, i'd say if you want to be successful, and you judge success by being wealthier than other people, you are going to be miserable. I have a relative who is a very successful dentist, and has tons of money, and bitches non-stop. He goes on a safari to africa and complains about the bugs. that sort of thing.

I don't even know where i am going with this.

the secret to happiness is being satisfied with what you have, instead of comparing it to some other thing or finding the flaws in it

Anyway, justice is when vice is thwarted and virtue rewarded.

Vice and virtue are determined by the RCC, talk to a representantive if you are in doubt about an action.

If they believe they are witnessing justice then they are. Two people could view the same situation, one thinking it is justice and one thinking it isn't. They are both correct.
