So it's Stockholm Pride and a week pass costs 1145 SEK and I'm not fucking attending it. Why pay through my nose to see the same old fucking artists and hear the same fucking people do the same fucking things they've done for years. And in Old Media it is the same fucking boring articles about how the gay movement is balkanized and that we must all discuss how it should be in the future and oh there's those same old fucking socialists again.

On the one hand.

On the other hand, there's the issue of Russia being Russia. A big fucking problem right at our doorstep and before that it was Novgorod. Russia is like competing with China and India about being the largest worst country in the world, specializing in brutal homophobia, because China got pollution and communism and India got rape and diarreha.

What I fear is that pride festivals only polarizes the discourse more than it should and excludes any non black/white stances. Yes, Russia is a shithole. No, polyps and asexuals should be ignored. But if we have this balkanized gay movement that is only held together by stronk feminist wome, why should I care?
>>
I'm not really sure what your point is. If you think that pride parades/whatever polarize the movement, then don't attend them. There are lots of problems that plague the LGBT community, but I don't think the pride events really do anything positive or negative. They bring the culture to the mainstream and into the community, but in doing so they segregate themselves.

On an unrelated not it's also stupid that they charge for it. I don't have to pay to go to hemp fest. They should be trying to normalize alternative sexualities and encouraging involvement.
>>
..why would they even take money for that?
>>
>>1055145
Thing is that I think that polyps are laughable and those who yakk about hate crimes are contemptible because they are implicitly contributing to lower punishments for violent crimes.

On the other hand the problems in Russia are vast, so how should I help those in Russia without associating myself with the 1st world problems crew?

jews them out

I dislike the very notion of a parade. Those obnoxious drag queens waving their genitalia, buttocks and sex toys in public. Seven hells, what should make it attractive for somebody!?

I mostly browse /int/ and often encounter tolerant folks that makes me happy but almost all of them are pissed off by these disgusting shows and I fully agree with them. Why should GLBT be stuck at these "parades" ignoring the common sense? What's the bloody link between rights and social acceptance and nauseous fags demonstrations?

Whenever people here complain about pride, others always insist they have absolutely no effect on the attitudes of average people towards homosexuality and that we are self-loathing prudes for denouncing them.
>>
>>1055304
I came out to my friend and mum, I'm definitely not self-hating. Do you realize that the vast majority of people that tend to be tolerant has to make a difference between ordinary gay people and parading fags?
>>
1145 SEK is way too much money for that. Don't go and maybe they'll learn that if they want people to attend they need to make it more accessible.
>>

It's pretty much /pol/ 2.0

well, I really cannot stand the way my hetero female friends (so called) "dance" at the disco sometimes, but I'm still fine with the personality in ordinary situations and so on. I just don't have accompany them on those nights anymore (since I can't stand those clubs they go to neither) and everything's fine.
I like to think the same about those overacting people at pride parades, too: that's the place where they just get carried away. But so far, nobody forced me to join, innit?

So you admit that the purpose of these parades isn't promoting social acceptance as had been orginally but allowing flaming queers to fuck up all good opinion of homosexuals? All is about the "right" of shocking and disturbing people by nudity and flamboyance?

>hetero female friends
Say me if you see them in this pic.

>It's pretty much /pol/ 2.0
You're mistaken. There are a decent amount of supportive anons as well as nutjobs.

So what?
>>
>>1055437
Actually, the parades are intended to be parades, entertainment. All social aspects attributed to them, from activism to debauchery, are individual to those attending and participating, and inherently second to the entertainment. The entertainment just so happens to be LGBT in nature, intended for all, but with an obvious lean in that direction.

I, personally, have no problem with gay pride parades. I find those who do to be painfully and obnoxiously prudish killjoys.
>>
>>1055448
>so what
>implying the ignorant hatred itself isn't the issue
>implying the goal of superficial "tolerance" is at all sustainable
>>
>>1055438
Oh no! Not naked males! Anything but naked males!

TRIGGER WARNING!
>>
>>1055456
By no means public nudity and "debauchery" are excusable.

>>1055452
I don't talk about tolerance but rather norms of etiquette.

>>1055451
And I find indecently behaving flamboyant faggots to be indecently behaving flaymboyant faggots. And this is not solely my opinion but that of a larger voiceless group of people.
>>
>>1055480
Obviously a larger group of painfully and obnoxiously prudish killjoys, such as yourself. I rest my case, and I'm leaving to enjoy my life.

Enjoy stewing in your own resentment.
>>
>>1055487
So many blatant words. You just don't want to realize faggish parades with nude men is a harmful thing that only damage the common reputation of gays; you don't want to realize that partially they are responsible for keeping some men in the closet because they don't want to be associated with it (it's not my case though).
