Honest assessment: I spent two years in Israel with my firm, IDF conscripts were everywhere. None of them struck me as particularly competent (basically kids who didn't really want to be there). Of course, they have their elite troops, but nearly every average-tier military could roll right over them.

Israel has mandatory military service for all citizens, female and male. once you have finished mandatory service (3-5 years i believe) you are still part of their military and can be mobilized at any time. i think the cut off age for mobilization is in the 60s somewhere, but also includes people like pregnant women, severe injuries, etc, etc.

The israeli military is purpose built for warfare in and around israel. this means desert and urban warfare. their airforce is primarily US aircraft, F16s F18s and probably some F5s as well, though with advanced packages. They used the M4/M16 series rifles up until the early 2000s, but have since returned to full employment of the Galil. The 9mm baby eagle used to be the service pistol, but i am not sure if it is still in service.
basically, my wet dream is to be assigned to an Israeli tank division for training as all of their fucking babes are in the tanks. Seriously, fat asses perky tits and pretty faces are to be found in the israeli military.
they are also determined fighters (their career military, at least) if one were to attempt an invasion of israeli, a defense the likes of Stalingrad would be waiting, enough to make any Czar envious of the determination of the israeli people.

1) The mandatory service period is 3 for men, 2 for women. Officers sign on for 1.5 years (men) or 1 year (women).

2) The reserve consists of men up to the age of 50, and of course doesn't include pregnant women or the injured. Women stay in reserve until they are wed.

3) Israel has pretty much every combat environment available.

4) Tthe galil is long since obsolete. regular m-16-> shortened m-16 -> m-4 -> Tavor and micro Tavor. Got it?

5) There are no women in the Israeli tank divisions.
