Mohammed Dangor, South Africa's ambassador to Libya, told Al Jazeera he has no knowledge of any of his country’s planes in Tripoli.

"I have no knowledge of any South African planes in Tripoli ... but Nato should know, since they control the airport and no plane can land without their permission," he said.

Dangor confirmed that most of South Africa's diplomatic mission had already left Tripoli on Saturday, with some officials still in Djerba in Tunisia and others in Tripoli.

He denied allegations that he left on a South African defence aircraft, saying that he left to Djerba on a World Food Program jet before making his way to Tunis, Dubai and finally Johannesburg.

South Africa is denying they have planes in Tripoli

When they butted heads with the 32nd Brigade (Kamis Gaddafi's elite troops) outside of Zawiya in the early stages of the rebellion. I could see a few surviving rebels fading away into the desert carrying those.

They were bought in small amounts for use by Qaddafi's elites, and that was a rare and lucky find.

Basically the people of Libya started up an uprising several months ago to overthrow their dictator, Muammar "Graffiti" Khadaffi/Ghaddafi/Ghaddfi/Daffi Duck who's the self-proclaimed "King of Africa" and an international douchebag. He's behind some terrorist attacks on Western countries and shit, oppressed his people like a bastard. Now it's come to a front of armed conflict, and the rebels have pretty much pushed into Libya's capital, Tripoli and shit has been moving along for the rebels. They've got 2 of Graffiti's sons, but they're still looking for G-Mua himself.

A lot of the rebels and uprisers seem to be educated in the West and are very articulate I think they understand once this phase of the rebellion passes, they've got a whole lot of work to do to stabilize after. the Transitional National Council (TNC) can be pretty much considered Western friendly, especially of the EU.
