values used by prior generations of, in this specific case, Americans.
since the point where "old-fashioned values" began to decline is mostly
thought of as the mid-60's, I can only assume that you mean anything
before then. you picture a world with nuclear families, hard working
family members, strong Christian values, with the female in a
pseudo-subservient role(not in the kitchen, or anything as extreme as
that, but more subtle, her shit takes second priority in the way of the
families or the males). one of the things that comes with
"old-fashioned" values is straight racism. people were goddamn racist in
this time frame in America. in addition to this, during this time
frame, creationism and Christian homophobia were taught in some public
schools, which violates the constitution directly (church and state). >laissez-faire
capitalism is a naive buzzword used by youths who are "exploring their
thoughts" in college or high school before they grow up I am
fully aware of how the government and the US economy works, obviously
more so than you, seeing as we're having this conversation. as you
progress further back in the timeline of the US you approach a economy
which looks more and more laissez-faire. it never actually reaches that
point, but it gets close, and this is where you see bullshit living and
working conditions, the release of dangerous products to the population,
and monopolies on certain products. |
